That was a very short interview with him saying the same stuff he did in his OpEd. He did not say "any Republican candidate." He said Trump or his "anointed successor." Do you think Trump would anoint DeSantis?

The Greg Jacob interview was much more interesting with his testimony about his meeting with Pence, Eastman and Trump, where Eastman proposed two ways for Pence to reject the legitimate electors and conceding that his legal arguments are unlawful but he and Trump continued to pressure Pence to proceed with their plan anyway.
Hopefully Trump anoints Pence.

Hawg, is it possible that if the "Committee" released some transcripts for use by the Justice Department for prosecution, that ALL transcripts could be subject to discovery by the defense?

And the exculpatory nature of the whole is what they're actually afraid of, rather than their piecemeal usage of selected bits?

That's actually the first thing that went through my mind when I read the above...

Excellent question. Prosecutors have an affirmative duty to provide the defense with exculpatory evidence under the Brady decision. Also there is a duty to reveal materials related to plea deals under Giglio that would be relevant to many Jan 6th cases.

If you remember during the Michael Flynn case, his first set of lawyers had a huge conflict of interest in that it had there advice that his company was not required to submit a federal filing under FARA. And the Team Mueller used that fact to have his lawyers pressure Flynn to plead guilty.

The fact that DOJ is complaining that materials and information are being withheld from them by the Committee (meaning Pelosi) puts them in a bind and could affect some convictions and plea deals already entered.

Not holding out much hope because the federal judiciary at the district court level in DC is largely trash and the DC Circuit isn't much better.

USCP have issued the following statement: "On June 16, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) received a call for a disturbance in the Longworth House Office Building. Responding officers observed seven individuals, unescorted and without Congressional ID, in a sixth-floor hallway. The building was closed to visitors, and these individuals were determined to be a part of a group that had been directed by the USCP to leave the building earlier in the day. They were charged with Unlawful Entry. This is an active criminal investigation, and may result in additional criminal charges after consultation with the U.S. Attorney."

I noted that as well. He left in 2019. Did he resign, or was he forced out to take a smaller golden parachute? Or just fired?

The problem here is the wording. Saying that your opinion is someone a "threat to democracy" is merely opinion.

Saying someone or some group is a "clear and present danger" has a legal meaning pertaining directly to national security, such as espionage by a foreign government, for instance. Although the Garland Justice Department has expanded that definition greatly, to include Moms at a school board meeting.

She had cover when a "respected" conservative judge like Luttig said it first, under oath at a Congressional "hearing."

Words can be dangerous when they have specific legal meanings, even of the public at large doesn't always understand their specialized meaning.

To say that Luttig's knowing invocation of that term was...uhm...improvident...is an understatement.
