Just sold some other stock to place a .35 order for more $3 June calls.

If it doesn't hit, I will place another order tomorrow.

ClickClack,

Care to enlighten me with what you know? I run an E&P company. I produce 1200 BOPD and 2600 MCFD in wells that I operate and probably close to 1/2 as much in wells that I'm a non-op WI owner. I've drilled many exploration wells. I dare to say I'm one of the more sophisticated oil & gas investors in this thread. When you drill a successful exploratory well, you run casing and attempt to produce it. You don't just plug what could be a successful well.

Yes, I also work in E&P and have never, ever heard of an exploration well producing. It's a throw away well.

Maybe you've heard of an exploratory well called Macondo?

Do you have any idea what was going on when the blowout occurred on the Macondo well? I'll fill you in. They were cementing production casing. How is this possible? You work in the E&P industry and have never heard of an exploration well producing.

Do you mind telling us what exactly you do in the E&P business?

Whether an exploratory well is commercial can not be determined until "commercial quantities" of production is established.

I'm not saying it hasn't happened, but I've never heard of someone drilling an exploratory well, determining that the well would likely be a commercial producer based on logs, and being "thrown away".

The Macondo well was an exploratory well and, had it not blown out, BP would have returned to the well to complete and produce it.

First off, logs have limited depth of investigation of the formation that is surrounding the wellbore.

It's like reading a book, the logs show you a book's cover but producing (reading) it gives you all the details.

I'd wait to jump ship until we see results post production.

HOUSTON, Feb. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyperdynamics Corporation (NYSE: HDY) today announced that the Hyperdynamics-operated Sabu-1 exploration well reached the planned total depth of 11,844 feet in a water depth of 2,329 feet, approximately 90 miles southwest of Conakry, Guinea. The well encountered oil shows while drilling the targeted Upper Cretaceous section. Petrophysical analysis of electric logs indicates the presence of hydrocarbons in non-commercial concentrations in multiple layers of sandstones distributed throughout a 1,300-foot interval of Santonian to Turonian age sediments. The indicated oil saturation appears to be residual, suggesting that larger volumes of oil formerly were present in the reservoirs but subsequently leaked out or that these rocks lay on a hydrocarbon migration pathway.

"The Sabu-1 results provide evidence that hydrocarbon generation has taken place in the basin and enhances the prospectivity of our 9,650-square-mile concession, one of the largest in West Africa," commented Ray Leonard, Hyperdynamics' President and Chief Executive Officer. "The oil and sandstone reservoirs encountered in the Santonian and Turonian age sediments in the well are particularly encouraging in the development of the turbidite fan plays further down dip on the concession."

Hyperdynamics will be incorporating the results of the well, along with the interpretation of the newly acquired 4,000-square-kilometer 3D seismic survey that is currently being processed, in order to plan the subsequent drilling program in consultation with Dana Petroleum and the government of Guinea.

Hyperdynamics operates the Guinea concession with a 77% interest. Aberdeen-based Dana Petroleum holds the remaining 23% interest.

tx ag - I've just never been involved in any exploration well that had any objective of production

This sucks.

If a commercial discovery was made they still would have likely drilled another well to maximize efficient production of the reservoir....possibly additional water injection wells later on to enhance production. I would not make the assumption Sabu 1 was destined to be anything more than an exploratory well had there been a major discovery.

Not surprised by the knee jerk price reaction.

Disappointing that we got "oil show" and not "discovery"

That being said a deal is a must at this point. The PSC and concession is all HDY has.

Enhanced prospectively and verification of seismic data is all we got today.

No doubt shorts are getting bailed out.

well, that's one way to look at it. The other might be the "shorts" are being rewarded for shorting a company that was a long shot to begin with. I am having dinner with my friend tonight and see what he thinks. It's time to say bye-bye to HDY.

I am saying the company is toast. If it gets bought up (which is likely), the common shareholders will get little to nothing.

TC,
I was surprised by your comment about shorts being bailed out. To me that speaks of a long that is blinded by the "pot of gold at the end of the rainbow". Normally, people that understand the company like you do, don't make those kinds of remarks.

Ray better be rollin up with armed body guards. Seriously...there were some rough looking blue collared folk at last year's ASM. I think a lot of them had A LOT riding on this and the excitement was palpable...especially from Ray and Co.

That being said, i am going to watch this thing tomorrow. If it gets down around a buck or less, i will likely make a purchase. I've got the gambling sickness.

if it drops like a rock tomorrow, I would bet alot of new money creates a bottom for this. I would also "assume" alot of the original "gamblers" might sell out and break about even. It's alot easier to hold when you're playing with house money.

This is literally the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen on Texags. It is pretty clear that you are 100% emotion and don't belong in the investing world. On top of that, you can't think for yourself. No one put a gun to your head.

When are the 30+ million shorts going to cover? Shouldn't we expect that to at the very least provide some type of bounce? All the bad news is out, surely they're not going to wait around for more surprises???

Piag,

So if this company is toast and you don't think shorts are going to be covering anytime soon.....why not short or buy puts?

Do you like making money?
