The good news is there is still nothing to suggest that they are any less likely to hit oil on this first well. Most West African success rates are near 50-60%. If they hit on Sabu then everyone will come out way head. If they don't then this thing plummets to next to nothing. Hell, you mIght as well still hold at that point to see the results of the second well provided they have enough money to even drill the second with all the delays on the first.

As someone mentioned earlier: If you are in this for the long haul, then all of the current price fluctuation should not bother you. It really doesn't matter. Because when results are announced, the stock is going to pop big on a hit, and lose it all on a dry hole.

There is no way to prepare for all things that can go wrong. Getting a part to the West Coast of Africa can cause delays.
The only thing that you can say management did poorly is communicate, and honestly that wasn't that bad. We just weren't happy with the message.

Talked to the Boys this morning about our drilling activities on the JE. They laughed and said they now refer to the boat as "Casper" the ghost ship. They don't know for sure, but they think there was a problem with the BOP or the operator trying to install. They said there must be a few ghosts on board to screw up the drilling like this. A name of a company came up and they all feel this could be our new JV partner. Details are still being worked out but they do see the light on the other side. This company has there own drill ships and might be used to help out 'Casper'. Can not reveal any names at this time. Derby

Harge, apparently Killerbee2 previously organized a coup that (according to IV users) forced HDY to bring out their most recent press releases. I dont know Killerbee's affiliation and I've heard no such mention of Blackrock's tie to this coup.
IV circulates a lot of rumors, the most recent being all signs point toward the possibility of a hostile takeover.
Takeover by Blackrock or someone is going to use Blackrock's shares to do the takeover?
Killerbee was one of the shareholders responsible for mobilizing the owner support to bring in new mgmt a couple years back. As for other initiatives since, I can only speculate.
I can confirm that there are major retail longs who post on IV, because I personally know some and have met others at the last shareholder meeting. These days there is much more exposure and shareholder collaboration which bodes well for preventing a hostile.
