thirdcoast has made it clear that he is invested in HDY hoping for a pop on positive drilling results.

fahraint has made it clear that he watches HDY for technical analysis trends.

These are two totally different investment strategies and both can have positive results. Both posters have given good advice. I don't know why this has become a thirdcoast vs. fahraint thread with people picking sides. I still look forward to both of their posts. Let's all grow up and quit trying to degrade other posters on this thread. If you don't agree with technical analysis that's fine. If you don't agree with buy and hope for positive drilling results that's fine. The truth is, both can give positive results. If you bought this stock because of someone's recommendation in this thread, you should have done some external due diligence. This stock has been swinging wildly since before I got in it. I had no reason to believe the wild swings would cease just because I bought some shares.

This is a place for investment advice and ideas. Not a place to blame people for bad investments and not a place to degrade people for their stock opinions. Let's try to keep it constructive.

this thread has turned into any other stock thread. For the people that are short, the negatives are the focal point and anyone with differing opinions is an idiot. If you're long, then anything negative written about about HDY is a sin and those people are fools. Like I've said, this will go to $4 very soon (on zero news). Why? Because wall street likes making money. Then it will go down to $2.50 or so after that.

HDY won't extinguish anything. They will just sit there and not say a word. They need a PR Specialist a month ago.

I do use TA to help me, yet, I also look at fundamentals, sector rotation and other tools to help. I believe thirdcoast made a valid rec here, and HDY is worth a look. I made that pretty clear when I first started posting here, and thanked him for making the rec.

For some unknown reason, without any provocation on my part other than posting a few TA observations, he began to ridicule...to the point he began asking where I was. I should have not replied.....

I agree with you that both methods can work, and I agree that both should be used together...from here on, I wont engage thirdcoast, but, at times may make some TA observations.

Like today for instance, there is support at 2, 1.5, and 1, and for those who are riding it down, those would be good points to average more in.....

I hope Sabu hits today, and I wish the best for longs!

Because some have been there and done that with this type of stock. This is something that is about 10pct chance to succeed and you invest accordingly.

Buying more here. I just think big boys are getting their shares cheap.

I also think since drilling success chance is a little greater than 10%. I think W. Africa has a ~50% success rate on wells.

From listening to Ray over the past months, it seems like he is out to get the shorts. The current stock price isn't pretty, but it doesn't worry me too much. It wouldn't surprise me if Ray is out to really hurt the shorts and make an announcement after a day like today.

Because TA is useless with a stock like this and you were setting yourself up to be correct no matter what happened with the price. It's a joke.

Drop this am was largely due to margin calls imo. Lot of good people got screwed big time by the greedy yanks who try to tear down US companies and spread fear and lies and use brute force price manipulation tactics to take their shares from honest hard working middle class Americans. Most of these guys would pimp little boys and girls and trade orphans if it were legal. A lot of good honest people had no clue what they were up against until now and still have no idea just how rigged the casino is against them. Thoughts and prayers to those who have lost most, if not all in recent weeks. Yes I realize people who margined took a risk, but it is just unfortunate to see this type of stuff happen. If you would have told me months ago that the price would hit very low $2's in mid December, I would have assumed we hit a dry well on Sabu and were struggling for funding on the second well. Pretty crazy.

I just hope it stays low until the new year so I can grab some more shares in my IRA.

That's why all the crying from htown, et al doesn't make a lick of sense. If you're in this long you're hoping it hits $10, or $30 or $50. If the hole is dry its going to $1 or lower. So all this grousing about what its doing on no news is silly; its going to end in the same place based on drilling results regardless of where it yoyos now.

Seems odd, I wonder if he/she had an oddball share quantity requested. That is an unfortunate error.

Yah it was just 600 shares? All my trades have always been pretty much instant. My share volume is rarely high.

Shaking down retail so tute ownership slice can grow bigger....same story.

I also suspect the shorts timeline ends with the anouncement of drilling results as opposed to the onset of drillling operations.

This is why it is important to stay well capitalized to avoid being forced out of a position because of volitility. If long, this can include selling calls, buying puts (not recmnded) or keeping enough "dry powder" on the sidelines to avg down or hedge elsewhere.

I believe that there could be delay related to either of the issues below:
-New rig/crew (operating equipment)
-port infrastructure/manpower (getting equipment)

I believe mgmt is making the most of this situation expanding the logging program and also exploring other properties for stability diversification. I do not believe any of the delay/silence is related to the geology.

The probability of HDY going belly up hinges on dryholes or the ROG not honoring the contract. It doesn't hinge on mgmt's decision to withhold weekely operational updates or excuses for delays.

I do typically, but I put a market order in to capture a quick buck and was watching it like a hawk for a couple of minutes.

Got 500 more at 2.15, just in time apparently. Still in the red overall, of course, but this helps.
