She wants trial date in 6 months.
For those who keep claiming this case is not political, explain how the Fulton County, Georgia, district attorney waited to file political to file charges now against Donald Trump and to try to have a trial in the middle of the Republican presidential primary. Also, if this is not political, how did the indictment end up released earlier today online before the grand jury true-billed the 19 individuals including Trump?

She wants trial date in 6 months. Wants to try all 19 defendants together so no way to do trial that fast. Likely after election.
So right in the middle of the primaries. Maximum chaos. Called it.
Yep, helps Trump win the primary (he was even boasting all he needed was another indictment to wrap it up), and then results in either him running from prison, or the GOP replacing him with someone else, thus making MAGA stay home or even vote Democrat out of spite.

What's this document the lawyers told Trump not to sign but he signed anyways.

Everyone knows it is political, other than the resident leftists who still think Trump is an agent of Russia.

Heck, even they know it is political. They simply don't care.

That's right, Trump was boasting about this. I guess he got what he wanted after all. Perhaps this is another part of his 89D chess.

Perhaps the most important part of these future charges is that Trump, if elected, will not be able to pardon himself or cancel the investigation. Nor will the governor of Georgia be able to pardon him if he was so inclined.

This might be the most important legal case he faces.

The significance of accessing the voting machines in Coffee County seems to be highlighted by Trump's lawyer pointing fingers. Rudy's lawyer saying he had nothing to do with it, that was Sidney's thing. However it appears his fingerprints are all over it. If this was no big deal, I don't think Rudy's lawyer would be so keen to deny any involvement.

Georgia has not been good for trump. He lost there in 2020. He tried to beat Gov. Kemp and lost that, too. His handpicked Sen candidate, Herschel Walker, lost, also. And now he will soon be mug shot, finger printed, and some day stand trial in Georgia.

The first thing trumps lawyers should do is try to get it out of Georgia and have it made a Federal case instead of a state case.

Some of the overt acts they're being charged with are horrific. Imprison them to protect our democracy!!!

1: Trump tweets that he's watching TV
2: Shafer reserves a room for an upcoming meeting in three days
3: Meadows texts a US rep asking for phone numbers of some state reps

Simply horrific overt acts

What I would expect from a useful idiot who was elected to the office because of race and now is doing the bidding of the DNC.

And how in the heck does a DA from Georgia have any jurisdiction over Pennsylvania.

This is throw out a supertanker full of bull**** and see if they can get some to stick.

Buying duct tape isn't a crime, but it's evidence to be used as part of a kidnapping plot. That's what they're going for here. That being said most the charges are political crap.

Lol no one should love a politician, especially not someone like Trump.

And the converse, should anyone hate a politician (TDS) like Trump? Does the error exist on both ends of the equation? Is it ok to hate but not to love?

I get it, but the overt act of texting that you're watching tv? Really?

The mailed in election of 2020 was ****ed up six ways from Sunday and everyone knows it. The regime imprisoning their most popular political opponent for exploring any and all possible remedies for a sham election is the end.

Of all elections to at least ask questions about, it's 2020. The "most secure election ever" speech that backed it screams to anyone with a modicum of common sense that it likely wasn't. Hanging chads were given more focus over these mailable ballots which are known to be subject to fraud. So much so that other countries ban their usage.

The Acts are not meant as individual charges, despite what twitter says.

For RICO, prosecutors collect individual actions called "overt acts". On their own, each overt act may or may not be a separate crime. But together, the overt acts can help prosecutors tell a detailed story of how many actions went into an alleged crime. With so many individuals, they have to show the accounting of what info comes from where. I'm not commenting on the indictment itself, but my understanding is that's how it is formatted and structured.

How are these acts criminal?

How did they get a grand jury to okay this?

Apparently the court posted the document containing the charges, and then removed it. Reuters seems to have covered it first. This was 11 or so hours ago: https://www.politico.com/news/2023/08/14/georgia-court-document-trump-indictment-00111102

On average, current and former Presidents of the United States have been charged with two felonies.

Wow. Who would have known?
