Lots of interesting bits to digest. Angry dad, stupid kids, dumb Greg, and smart, funny, and sympathetic Tom. Great start.

I found it odd/interesting how he was closing a deal to acquire Pierce, just 2 days before the sale to GoJo. Why? Do we think that the GoJo sale is dependent on that acquisition?

And clearly the kids money depends on the sale of GoJo happening. Wonder if that sets off a chain of events

My thinking right now is he'll blow up the Gojo deal just to **** over his kids.

Same. Plus consider NYC is in the northeast and LA in the southwest. The days are shorter up north in the winter.

Exactly. Gets dark before 5pm during the winter, makes it depressing leaving work.

But why Tom tip her off then lie to Logan about talking to Shiv? He'd have to know they'd love to steal the deal from their dad.

Have we discussed the RT score for S4? 100% critics.

Incredible first episode back.

The drama certainly feels ominous and ratcheted up, it was one of the best Greg episodes, while so many of Roman's one-liners had me cracking up as well.

Oh, and the real estate porn was top notch. That Roy sibling LA pad, in particular, was insane.

Man, it's so great to have this show back. I'm going to savor every minute of this season, to the point where I think I'm going to try and watch each episode twice every week, just to fully soak it all in.

Exactly. It's pre-election in their world, so that means it's still daylight savings, which often ends the weekend just after the election. So, yeah, there are plenty of times then when it's broad daylight here in LA and I'll see a live news or sports feed from New York and it's completely dark there, around those times.

The deal dependencies are going to make for savory drama. Logan holds all the cards still.

Tom is still a buffoon. And was more worried about Shiv thinking he was banging Naomi than he was about tipping her off to the deal.

I also loved Nan's feigned disdain for talk of money as she lets the bidding war go unfettered. Fantastic performances all around. This world is just so fun to soak up and be a fly on the wall to their debauchery and arrogance.

Finally, I love the interactions between Tom and Greg...always gold. They nailed that pair from the start of the show.

In September, Sunset is around 7pm in both cities.

So, it would have to be 4pm in LA and 7pm in NYC. And everything would've had to happen between 4pm and 7pm.

Where was Nan's house?

The Roy pad was obviously LA.

They flew to Nan's and it was obviously still in a warm environment.

I think this was separate from the Waystar Gojo merger. He wasn't acquiring Pierce for Waystar.

I watch intently through the whole episode, but last night I was reminded of how glued I am to the screen for every Tom/Greg conversation. The Disgusting Brothers might be my fav

I'm not an expert on Palms, but it looked southern cali rather than northern. I could be wrong and will be wrong again.

so many great scenes already mentioned, but loved that we got another great scene in a diner too. obviously we think we're going to see a nice conversation between Logan and Colin, but really, Logan is not interested in what Colin has to say, only in saying what he wants to.

and we finally see the kids all working together, which is a nice moment...but it's clear they still really have no clue what they're doing. hard to imagine the Pierce deal not backfiring on them or at least falling through, right?

man, what a great first episode

Or say it does go through and they control Pierce. No way there isn't a power struggle. Part of me wants to see it succeed in a way that it competes against ATN. Maybe they start poaching members of Logan's team.

The idea of them creating "The Hundred" was funny. Somewhere those poor investors are still waiting.

Great first episode! A few random thoughts:

- I can't decide if Tom let Shiv know for love or strategy. Think that it's likely a slip up bc of love, but intentionally unclear.

- Roman being the voice of reason with his siblings was kind of scary. You're in a rough spot if he's the one doing that.

- Picked this up from The Ringer, but Logan saying "Nobody tells jokes anymore" was him missing the banter/commentary of his kids.

- Greg continues his fall upward with hilarity. Wouldn't be shocked if he's the only family member still working for the business when all is said and done.

When Roman is the voice of reason you know you're ****ed. I like how he tried to convey to them these numbers they were throwing around were astronomically large and they were like "so what." Great line by Logan: "Congratulations on saying the biggest number you ****ing morons."

They were so afraid of getting beat by the old man, they upped their bid $2b based on their paranoia.

Tom wanted to let Shiv know that he may or may not be ****ing her. Just to mess with her. He was so caught up in it he didn't realize what was going ton.

fantastic episode 1. the dialogue on this show is incredible, so much better than anything else out there right now. its up there with deadwood and the sopranos in the all-time dialogue hall of fame for me.

My favorites exchanges last night were with kids with their banker.

"OK, but is it actually worth that?" -Roman

"It's worth what the top bidder will pay...I guess" -Tellis

"Wow, I really wish I went to Harvard Business School like you T. It is intimidating talking to an intellectual giant like yourself" -Roman

I love the headlines in the intro. This week's were:

"Man with Bird Flu can't stop thinking of ducks"

"China hack could see 40m Americans entombed in their electric cars"

"Deep State blunder: Classified document displayed on NBA jumbotron"

Is there anything more pathetic than Connor trying to cling to his 1% and spending ridiculous amounts of money to stay Mr. Irrelevant. He's definitely the Fredo of the family which led me to thinking who would be whom:

Logan - Vito Corleone
Shiv + Kendall - Michael
Roman - Sonny
Connor - Fredo
Tom - Tom
Greg - Kay
Frank - Sal

I don't think the Roy's have a clear Michael, which is kind of the point of the whole series
