If they reach the full transition to Saul this season, they could still do a fifth if the ratings and money are good enough. But the renewal was for one 10-episode season.
I was discussing the series arc in previous threads, it just seemed to me this can't go on in the pre-BB timeline much longer. Not just due to "natural" storyline - needing to balance story progression vs filler - but also due to the unavoidable aging of the involved actors. I think no one really minds the fact the look older than in BB but Jonathan Banks is quite old. I could see a post BB season of Saul, that might be fun. But with what happened to Jimmy's brother I would think his progression to criminal lawyer would speed up
There's no reason why BCS couldn't run past the start of the BB timeline. That would be an excellent reason to bring Jesse and Walt onto the show.
And there is also the post BB timeline that is currently black and white

I get the feeling this will be it for BCS.
Also i do know some BB fans who are just not drawn to this program for whatever reason.

I tried really hard but this show was meh
I like BCS better than BB, but I can see them ending it this season or next.

I assume you're a BB fan? I think this show is almost as good and that is high praise. I went it with low expectations and they knocked it out of the park.
The fact that they made Jimmy such a sympathetic character shows how great this show is.

I loved BB but don't rate is as high as most and Saul was absolutely my favorite character
Maybe it was my bias towards Squigy over lenny bUT something was just off for me
Maybe too much of Saul ruined him

I'm hoping the series ends (whether that's S5 or beyond) with a conclusion to the Omaha snippets. In a way it would also be second ending to BB. Added closure. Personally, I'm rooting for Saul to get an end similar to Jesse...a second chance.
Looking forward to this season!
