NFL has flopping for at least the last 5+ years as well, it's sad.
I think we all accept accentuating contact that occurs to make the ref aware of it. What I hate is simulation (no foul actually occurred) and acting like you are dying. Some times players incorrectly accused of flopping, and I think its just because the people saying it's flopping haven't had played soccer at a higher level. (basically past elementary school).
This is not an insult either, I just mean you'd be surprised how much it hurts to basically be sent to the ground while you are sprinting. Which makes it hilarious when players flop, and then hurt themselves doing it.
Or, what it feels like to get your ankles/shins kicked with force. It's also extremely easy to be knocked off balance, or knocked down, if someone bumps into you at the right moment. That's part of the reason why some players are much better at gaining and keeping control of the ball, they have excellent balance and ability to adjust to challenges.
