Did England change COVID rules just for this match? Wembley had been at like 25% capacity in the group rounds right?

It's almost like Germany doesn't want to win starting Werner and England not starting Mount.

Do Havertz and Werner stay in their apartments or with the team?

covid numbers magically improved and triggered capacity allowance to go from 25% to 50% just in time for this match.

I like Raheem challenging the keeper early. Good strike.

I don't understand what I just saw, why did the ref allow two English players to stand about five yards from the ball? The ones that weren't part of the wall

What minute? I'll look at halftime.

I have watched it 3 times and still don't get it. Two defenders were clearly encroaching by their position and for some reason Germany treated it like an indirect kick.

Saka is good, but I'd have a hard time not starting Foden in an English lineup. ...and no Grealish? 3 in the back for both squads.
Foden hasn't had a good tournament so far so I can understand him not starting.

It seems England's plan is to just give it to Saka and hope he creates something. And Germany are definitely playing Saka rough because they've fouled him 3-4 times now. Good news is England probably have the advantage on set pieces. I'd have had Grealish in the midfield to help in that creativity.

Mount and Chillwell are cleared of the covid protocols right?

Despite all of England's possession, and a lot of possession in the attacking third, Harry Kane has been invisible so far.

Mount is in the 23, so I assume he's cleared at least.

Werner is on such poor form. It's evident that his confidence is gone.

Okay. Wasn't sure and haven't heard much about it since they had to sit the last group game.

re: Chillwell, I don't see him listed as a substitute. ..Shaw is just as good of a LB, but in this 3 man backline, I don't see Shaw as a left wing-back.

espn commentator was just talking about Mount. Sounds like he was just released last night so he was not expected to start. might see him later.

Southgate's team selections are really baffling at times. Not just today but the whole tournament. Basically playing with 2 CDM's in Rice and Phillips

Kane was offside on that play. Question was who played it or was it a deflection.

Just curious - What did Clattenburg say about it? I'm at a restaurant and can't hear.

I found it. That was odd. The German players were yelling about the players being in front of the wall.

the expert thought he went on top of the ball first and wasn't being intentional on kroos, so yellow was correct, but those studs coming right down on the middle of Kroos' leg like that seemed like pretty dangerous foul play to me. referee could have seen it differently and it would have been hard to argue too much, IMO

Said there was clearly no intent - went for the ball but the angle carried his boot over the ball. Thus the yellow and no red.

While true, intent doesn't matter. That could easily have been SFP.

"There was no brutality therefore yellow card is correct." Which by the way is utter horse ***** The tackle was studs half way up a leg. It's easily could have been SFP.

I would've like to see Rudiger to Havertz to Werner for the game winner.

In your face England.
