Members of A&M's historic 1989 baseball team will be at Olsen Field this weekend as the Ags celebrate the 35th anniversary of the dominant 58-7 club. D.D. Grubbs, Mike Easley and Kirk Thompson sat down to reflect on the spring that gave birth to "Olsen Magic" as we know it.

Enjoyed the memories!

I have never heard anyone discuss the conversation at the CWS in 1989 at the beginning of the first game broadcast where the pbp announcer asked the color commentator " Of these 8 teams here, who do you think
is going to win the CWS? The guy answered. " I don't know.....the best team is not even here". An obvious reference to our Texas Aggies!

I was there for both games and it was my fish year in the Corps. For me, it was the greatest sports moment (and to this day) still is that I've ever been a part of. Pure insanity!

Great job, LOVE how they are TOTALLY behind this team, 'Want them to win it all!'

This was the spring before my freshman year, and following from Houston, I fell in love with Aggie baseball. I couldn't wait to be a student and attend games. I didn't miss many home games after for the next 6 years. Many memories with this view!
