I've been on the pitch when teammates have broken legs, arms, collarbones, you name it., and been the person the ground too.
That's pretty rough to watch them get treated as is, I couldn't imagine standing around your friend as CPR is done on them.
Personally, I would want to have continued the match like they did. Not playing it wouldn't help you feel better, and once you get a few minutes into the game its all you are focused on.
