They are all broken people, but Connor's reaction was just so brutal..again. He never even liked me. I mean I didn't get to make him proud of me. Tom's breakdown when giving the news to Greg was also striking.

Jesus. Roman trying desperately to get some emotional support from Gerri was brutal.

Absolutely genius move to not show us exactly what was happening with Logan. We as the audience are experiencing it along with the kids.

Submit this episode for every actor's Emmy nominations.

The only question is whether Culkin and Strong cancel each other out or they find a way to put them in separate categories.

Emmys are already all reserved for an early bottle episode from another HBO series.

Those are guest actors, thankfully. Everyone can win.

Shocking that the death came not only in episode 3 of the season but also that it happened 15 minutes into the episode (and not in the last five minutes as a big event/cliffhanger).

Has to be the most surprising death of a character that most people were guessing would be dying soon.

Anyone watch the behind the scenes stuff at the end? They shot a 27 minute one-shot. I was so emotionally invested I didn't even realize.

Great episode.

Now if only HBO would get their **** together with their servers to handle all the traffic trying to watch tonight's episode.

I had to restart no less than 10x tonight because the connection kept timing out.

Excellent TV. ****ty infrastructure supporting it. HBO can't help but trip over themselves with their terrible app

That *might* be an issue with your particular hardware, connection, or platform. Not only was my stream perfectly fine, but on Apple TV, at least, I consistently find HBO Max to be one of the most reliable streamers out there. That, and I've seen no reports online about any traffic issues either. More importantly, though, Succession doesn't get crazy high viewership, especially no where even close to shows like House of the Dragon or The Last of Us, which haven't seen wide-ranging traffic issues either.

I haven't seen this show since midway thru season 1, but had HBO on in the background during the replay of tonight's episode after Last Week Tonight. Do not know if I need to watch any other episodes since it would be hard to top that one. Best depiction of the gut punch when getting that call

Good to hear

Last time I had issues with the app was Dec '21, and then all hell broke loose tonight

I'm probably going to watch this again since I'm sure I missed some nuggets since I was reeling like the rest of them, just expecting the witty banter and insults like at every family function we've ever seen.

So many little funny or poignant touches. "Crusty the Clown", funeral should be "like Reagan's, with tweaks," Logan's bodyguard all by himself, Shiv and Tom.

The dichotomy between all the laughing sycophants on the boat at Connor's wedding and the grief stricken Roy family was stunning. Not only when Kendall came to get Shiv but several times they would have sweeping shots of the guests...just brilliant.

It was a very frustrating watch as our internet kept ****ting the bed every 5-10 minutes and it took us over 2 hours to watch.

I did get to see the quote, "She's smiling like she caught a foul ball at Yankee Stadium" several times, and it made me laugh every time.

All i could think of is, do they not give a **** about Connor? They didn't once think to speak to him.

Vey well executed episode.

I think Karl might have the funniest lines in the show, however brief or infrequent they might be. "I need a stiffener" right before pouring a drink.

I honestly thought the first two eps of this season were kinda meh by Succession standards but that last night was one of the best episodes of television I've ever seen.

Did anyone else think it was a ruse (Logan being sick) for a few minutes at first?

I forgot about the wide shot silhouette of the children (sans Connor) hurrying across the pier, with the waiting helicopter coming into view. Probably took hours to set up 15 seconds of film.

Made the mistake of logging checking my Twitter feed during the opening credits while being an hour behind, and of course was spoiled all over the place.

I remember when no one else was watching this show, and some respected critics (like Sepinwall) loathed it. Now it floods the entertainment press cycle and is all over the place minutes after air. Can't really remember an ascent like this since Breaking Bad.

Not that it particularly ruined much surprise, Succession spoilers never used to be a thing.

Brian Cox said he won't appear in anything else, but showed up at the taping of his funeral, even though they told him "no need", to throw off all the paparazzi.

Also, I was today years old when I learned Brian Cox is a very vocal Socialist, which I find hilarious in context of this show, and wish I'd known all along.

This episode of Succession and Long, Long Time from The Last of Us are the best two things I've seen this year. Ironically both were episode three of their respective shows. I can't even pick an MVP from last night, every single actor brought their A+ game. Carrie was the comedic MVP though, wow, and actual lol.

Agree it was genius to do it now to let everything else play out for the remainder of the season. I still think this season is all built upon Roman, and I'm loving it, and how Culkin is playing it. Culkin on the floor with the blank stare sticks with me. Connor at the end of the episode getting married but almost no one there was both beautiful as sad to me. That's all that matters, the person you're there with, the audience be damned.

Now comes the scramble, I can't wait. Chaos will reign.

absolutely incredible episode of television

my dad died a few years back and although it was at the end of a long long time of not being well it was still shocking in how it happened and the emotions that the kids were showing of shock and sadness and utter confusion made me have to pause the episode and catch my breath for a second because it brought me right back to those few moments after my mom told me what happened.

this ****ing show man. cant wait for the frantic race to the finish.

"Full disclosure, I'm currently having a panic attack."

Also, yes. Until we saw him lying on the floor, I thought Tom was pulling one over them and Logan was listening in.

The plane is in this poster

By "the plane" I assume you mean the plane Logan et al were on travelling to Sweden when, well, you know.

That was a BBJ, whereas the plane in your picture has fuselage mounted engines, and the horizontal stabilizer is high on the tail instead of low...probably a Gulfstream.
The problem with people that don't get it is they don't get that they don't get it.
