I like the pick. White is a 6'5" wing that played PG in college, so he has play making abilities. Good shooter, shot 40% from 3, so I see him as part of the bench units evolution to gradually replace Manu by committee. Not a bad athlete and can be a decent defender, but certainly won't be a lockdown guy. Bottom line is you can never have too many shooters out there.

Filled a need with Danny on his way out. Hopefully he can learn D like Danny did.
I don't think White is long or athletic enough to ever be an elite defender. However, the Spurs have always been really good at making decent defenders out of guys who don't necessarily have the physical tools, by teaching them good rotations and where the help is. Matt Bonner is exhibit A: below average athlete, not long, not strong, but we could put him in and not suffer too much on defense because he was always in good position and opponents would get baited into trying to take him 1 on 1.

Good grief slow your roll. One way or another the Spurs will come out of free agency with a huge upgrade at point guard to take pressure off Kawhi.
They may even be able to retain Dedmon or someone comparable in the worst case scenario.
Simmons replacing Green won't be a drop off.
The #3 west team will still be staring 7-10 games up at the Spurs in the standings.
Then Tony comes off the books next year.
I would move Dedmon to the "probably not" column.
