There might not be enough evidence to prove they murdered the child, but there may be enough to get a conviction for injury to a child.

I hear you, but if you injure a child and then they die...how the heck is that not murder? A ton or murders are simply injuring someone who dies a few minutes, a few hours, or a few days later. Our after prom party was eight or ten of us. We went to the home of a friend's grandparents. They had a big place on the lake and an indoor pool so we hung out and went swimming until 2am or so and then went home.
It was a good time!
My guess is this houston prom party had one of the dads upset that things were happening similar to the American Pie after prom party.

After reading the article … he is accused of killing a transgender female. So this mugshot makes more sense.
