Anyone in or near the '401 hear that gun battle last night around midnight? Started off with a 6 shot volley then about 20-30 minutes later, Fallujah with many different-sounding shots being exchanged. Can't find anything on the intertron about it yet.

There were a few jurors who wanted a not guilty verdict. These same jurors wanted only probation during sentencing. So outright letting them off in the name of equity isn't too far fetched.Ciboag96 said:

No. He's still guilty of manslaughter. They start again on the sentencing.

Had to look it up myself. Probably a worse result for the Defendant than what we would have gotten out of the first panel.
So how does the new jury get brought up to speed. I'm assuming they're not just seated and told to determine a punishment for someone convicted of manslaughter. Does someone read the the transcript of the trial? Are they expected to read the transcript on their own?

Thanks for the info. It sounds like this could potentially end up worse for the guy since the defense will have to try and recreate any inklings of sympathy or doubt purely from his opening argument and a parade of family members that I'm sure will say that he was just about to start going to college and was going to be a doctor.The Wonderer said:1.
