10's of millions in emergency water repair contracts given out to friends and family's fraudulent companies.
Who says the mafia isn't in Houston. It just isn't the Italian type. City Hall is and has always been horribly corrupt.
Spanish toll road model for water? lol. Buy water and then have to toll said water through new, high-speed toll road pipes.Diggity said:
During the debate, her solution for the water infrastructure issues was reaching out to the "private equity community" for help. After that, we were going to have the "best water pipes around"
Sounds like a very thoughtful plan.
If I have to stop somewhere before or after a gig, I take my gear with me. I might get weird looks walking through Kroger with trombone cases on my back or taking them with me into a restaurant, but they aren't getting stolen that way.DustysLineup said:
I've heard so many stories of guys getting their gear stolen at Fitz and other places while they were loading or unloading that I would have no problem believing that.
Me picturing Ryan eating in Chili's, and some little kid tapping his mom on the shoulder and saying, "Look, mom, that guy likes to blow horns."Ryan the Temp said:If I have to stop somewhere before or after a gig, I take my gear with me. HOUSTON An officer was shot and a suspect killed in southwest Houston early Saturday morning, police said. The officer is expected to be OK.
Houston Police Department Chief Troy Finner said this happened shortly after 1 a.m. on Harwin Drive near the Westpark Tollway and Southwest Freeway.
Finner said the officer, a sergeant who's been with HPD for 17 years, and two other officers were looking for a suspect believed to be involved in multiple burglaries. They saw the suspect park at a nearby hotel and Finner said he started scoping out nearby businesses.
At some point, the sergeant was in his patrol car when the suspect came up to the sergeant's passenger side window and opened fire in what Finner called an "ambush-style attack." The sergeant was hit multiple times in the arms and legs and once in his ballistic vest but was able to return fire, shooting the suspect multiple times.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene and the sergeant was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Spring Branch ISD Police out there doing the Lord's work.Quote:
Dear SBISD Families, Staff and Community,
At 7:21 a.m. this morning, the Spring Branch ISD (SBISD) Police were notified of a suspect attempting to steal vehicles at Buffalo Creek Elementary School during morning arrival.
SBISD Police responded immediately and pursued the suspect who had left the school property and had subsequently carjacked two separate vehicles during the pursuit.
While being pursued by the SBISD Police, the suspect driving a stolen vehicle hit several other vehicles. He vacated the stolen vehicle and fled on foot.
The SBISD Police officer continued pursuit of the individual. When the suspect pointed his weapon at the SBISD Police officer, the officer responded, firing several shots and killing the suspect. The SBISD Police officer was unharmed. This took place in the 2800 block of Campbell Road.
And then evidently is able to turn around on a two lane road and reverse direction with a cop behind him.Ducks4brkfast said:
