It should be $60k (10%), but since the prosecutors/judges never go after the bond for violators, bond companies have greatly lowered their collateral amounts because there's essentially zero risk for them. And when he didn't show up for his court date on September 19th, nothing happened. His case was just reset. This is why we have what we have now in our city. Defendants know that even with a laundry list of criminal convictions, like this defendant, they will still be released for free, have an attorney appointed to them for free and have no repercussions for not coming to court. I don't know why reporters aren't following up and asking the important questions.
