At about 9 tonight my wife said she was ready to go to bed. I helped her shut down the house, poured another beer and switched over from The Crown to Disney + to watch the new episode of the Mandalorian.

That's when I realized it was only Wednesday.

Just finished at Disneyland. Only saw one thing related to Mandalorian and it was toy...an AT-ST. I figured that he would have been walking all over the place, but never saw him.

I did get to meet Alejandro(Am Idol 2019) and literally bumped into Kobe Bryant.

Meh, I might enjoy this episode more if I didn't know there was only going to be 8 30 minute episodes. This felt a bit like a filler episode rather than a significant advancement in the story. Maybe they will at least come back to some of these characters and setting, so it doesn't feel like a waste of time.

I feel like we could definitely see some of them again. Obviously Gina Carrano's character is gonna be a major player. I also think we'll come back to the villager gal. How'd she learn to shoot like that.

Enjoyed the episode let's talk about the story.

The new chick...can't remember her name....

They gave her a back story of sounding like she was a former imperial trooper. Mando on the way back to the village makes a comment about, "there's nothing in these woods that a former shock trooper shouldn't be able to handle." Cool.

But now I'm having trouble connecting that to the conversation they had in the cantina. She made a comment about being involved on Endor and clearing out the imps. Does that mean what was left of the empires troopers after the battle went down to Endor and killed the Ewoks?

She also made a comment about how situations changed and her job "not being what she signed up for" and basically went AWOL from the empire, which is why I assumed she thought Mando was there for a bounty on her.

Did I get all that right or am I missing something?

She was a shock trooper for the Rebel Alliance. With the war ending, they were more focused on peacekeeping duties which wasn't what she signed up for.

see that's what was throwing me off. But her being a part of the rebellion makes a lot more sense.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan but only pay attention to what's mainstream....

i.e. I only know about the films and this and maybe a canon video game on occasion. Everything else from books and comics I pretty much get from y'all that've read on them and share here

I really hope Season 2 is in the 45-50 minute range per episode after this pilot season
