2028 Corner Canyon (UT) attacker Maija Mortensen commits to A&M volleyball

The first 2028 commit is in the boat.

On Tuesday evening, Corner Canyon (UT) attacker Maija Mortensen announced her commitment to Texas A&M.

Considered a top-20 prospect in the country by Prep Dig, A&M adds another big-time weapon on the court.

She was in College Station for A&M’s camp on June 12. Her offer was extended on Monday, and she committed shortly after.

At Corner Canyon, Mortensen won a 2026 6A state championship, received 2026 all-state first-team honors, 2025 all-state honorable mention recognition and a 2025 USA Nationals all-tournament selection.

The 6-foot-4 attacker is a 2026 USA U17 national team selection and a 2025 USA Nationals all-tournament selection.

She lands with a staff led by Jamie Morrison, whose success in developing front-row players is well documented.

Mortensen is the first commit in the class.
