It was perfect comedic relief. He was even slurping the soup. I have to watch with CC and sound on, and in the middle of grunts and other SFX there was a ssssslllllrrrppp. And then the camera panned to Yoda holding his soup bowl.
When he took that slurp that ended the fighting, the caption said "chittering". When Winta was hugging him goodbye, the caption of the sound he made was "babbles". I found the choice of wording really interesting.

My interpretation was that the blue shrimp is used to make that glowing blue drink which is pretty valuable, and that's why they were stealing them.

I actually think I might have an explanation for this.

Since most of the fobs are for bail jumpers/smugglers/etc. I think we can probably safely assume that when you get arrested by the republic/empire/whoever you get implanted with a tracking thing.

So not everyone has them, just people who have at one point been 'in the system.'

Which is why, at this point, I'm roughly 100% sure baby Yoda is a clone. Implanting clones with some kind of tracking device would seem like a pretty obvious move. At some point Mando is going to have to remove it.

Makes a lot of sense. Why else would Ex-Imperial Warlord & Scientist know about Baby Y other than personal experience / encounter through Imperial Science & Research or through digging through the Emperor's Data Archives and discovering some secrets.

It makes the most sense.

Or Yoda is a version of Mogwai and spontaneously reproduces when water is poured on him. (Are there any scenes with Yoda in water or drinking water?)
