Do yellow cards reset after group? Or after a round or two of knockout games?

EDIT - I found it myself.

Yellow card accumulation does carry over from the group stage to the knockout stage, meaning that any yellow cards picked up in the group stage do count for accumulation purposes while competing in the Round of 16 and quarterfinals.

However, the count resets after the quarterfinals and the slate is wiped clean, meaning that any semifinal participants would not risk missing the final due to yellow card accumulation.

Only a red card in the semifinal, either directly or via two yellows, would cause a player to be suspended for the final.

Lastly, any suspension that cannot be served during the 2022 World Cup will be carried over to that team's next official FIFA-sanctioned match.

Ugh I hate the yellow card accumulation rule. So dumb. It should be at least 3 allowed if they are going to carry it for 4 or 5 games.

As a former sweeper who earned his fair share of yellows, it pains me to see those stack up and remove quality players from the next game...

Three seems like a much better number for a player to miss a match than 2. Accumulation of cards is too easy for 2 yellows to force a player to miss a game, especially the way some of these refs dole them out like candy.

Exactly.

They really pulled back on cards after those first few matches, so teams that played early are disadvantaged.

My assumption would be either it is split between the women's who are selected for the WC next summer or that it goes into a pot and you have to make a certain number of appearances to be eligible for said pot
