I think that is the role he will fill on the team. He is experienced, versatile and playing really well right now. Now, why hasn't he been invited to the team the last few camps? That's another question, but he deserves to go.
I am not sure what role Roldan serves and why we would need him on the roster. But I have never been impressed with his USMNT performances.

Where are all the left backs? Other than Jedi, we've been in LB purgatory since Demarcus Beasley aged out. Villafana didn't work out. I guess Vines is injured for Qatar but he's not the answer either. ..I think we need Jedi to be prepared to go full-90 in every match in Qatar. That's a lot to ask.

Scally should be Robinson's backup at LB. No sense having backups at both RB and LB having Dest slot into LB if Jedi can't go. Then you end up with suboptimal output at both positions. I'd rather have Scally at LB than Yedlin at RB if that's the choice.
