Here's a picture of Hackberry sent to me.

That's Spicer's at the top of the picture. Wonder how Brown's made out.

this happened after Ike I think, a substation around Lufkin got taken out and it impacted service all the way to Caldwell and north to Robertson County.

Yeah, a couple coworkers said the same thing happened after Ike. I was under the impression the outage was due to damage, but I was confused why the power didn't go out until around noon today.

Rolling brownouts explains it. Thanks!

I went into The Woodlands during lunch. I live in Harris Co, though, so I still have power.

Looks bad, but not "unsurvivable"...even in most of the double-wides. I understand why they try to scare people out of these areas though.

EDIT: No clue why my text came out in hyperlink.

They aren't "rolling" though. They kept turning sections off until the system was balanced. From what I have seen, they aren't planning on turning anyone back on until they can turn everyone back on. There are multiple healthcare facilities around me that aren't on generator and they are down. Entergy isn't turning on their section of the grid...

Personally, I think they got really close to the edge. It would have been nice if they told customers to conserve as much as possible. We would have shut off everything except the fridge.

Yikes! The "rolling" part was my addition - sorry for the mistake.

Yeah, this seems like a huge issue considering how many customers outside of the impacted area are affected. Pretty much all businesses have been closed since lunch. Really not good, considering what all has happened the past few months.

Side note - there is a business less than 1/2 mile from me. It's in Harris Co like I am, so it should not be on Entergy. They lost power earlier and now it's back on. They blamed it on the Entergy outage, but that doesn't make sense.

I have a friend (EE) who works for Alabama Power/Southern Company and is part of a crew headed to Beaumont to help with repairs there (she was supposed to come here until the storm shifted). I just told her about this situation, and she thinks it's odd.

Joke - a hurricane could probably do $100k in improvements to Darrell's. #justajoke

ABC national news just showed the damage. Got this screenshot of Darrells. Looks good.
