Hurricane season not over until November, it's just that statistically, it's very rare for a hurricane or tropical system to hit Texas, especially the Houston area after around September 24th-ish.

Weather channel just gave an update and said that we still have 25% left to go on hurricane season. That's crazy.

They'll be hedging up a storm. "While we don't expect it to landfall nearby, go ahead and start preparing so that if it does hit nearby, we can say that we warned that it would hit here all along." They've become to afraid to make a prediction and stick with it.
