Weather app says 85/64 for next wednesday
went by rod and gun on Friday. The structure is relatively ok but they lost a wall facing the parking lot and the building is wide open for anyone to talk into right now.blazing7s94 said:

That would be pretty rare for September. Usually we have to wait until near the end of October before those make it past the Texas blast furnace to the coast.

I would take what Space City does versus the Weather Channel or Chron 100 times out of 100. I am kinda with you. I am a big fan of the site and bought a tshirt in the last fundraiser, but waiting until every damn model is in agreement before taking a stand is kinda chicken ***** Take a stand. Say what you think and put a confidence factor on it. Then update as necessary. They got lots of press from Laura, but I feel like they dropped the ball a bit.Martin Q. Official NHC cone. Will change depending how strong it gets. Weaker = West from everything I've seen.

Didn't they do just that with Laura? I'm too lazy to look it up, but I seem to remember them putting percentages on different scenarios at least a couple days out.

Yeah, they did 3 to 4 days out. I liked that, but then they went away from it and kept saying open ended stuff. Just seemed that they were afraid to make a call. The NHC put their nuts on the line and came up spot on. They look like the pro's and everyone else looks like amateurs waiting for everything to line up before they speak up.
They waited but the consequences of making that call and putting people at risk dictated that. NHC had the cone of uncertainty around their path as well.
Even the GFS which was the only model showing a "possible" Galveston landfall as a tropical storm, now agrees.
