There's an orange blob this morning by the Yucatan that's headed north slowly
That's supposed to get caught up in the front that's coming this weekend and then the subsequent high pressure behind the front is supposed to win out and keep it off shore and away from us.

Come on down cold fronts. Things simply need to be cooled down in the Gulf. It's especially bad this year.

Thats the same one that was the yellow one that went south in the gulf before Sally came over. It put it in reverse.
Oh man. GFS has this spinning up and hitting Louisiana. Front should keep it away from us.

9 days out who knows, but as of right now might be a double whammy for the Lake Charles, Baton Rouge area. Like i said this is 9 days out so who knows. It could end up being a nothing burger, or something to watch.
Models had this thing fizzle 2 days ago, now they are all over it. So who knows.
Looks like someone just gave several 3 year olds a box of crayons and a map of the gulf.

Also, just from following storms the last few years, the ECMWF is generally the best model nowadays as the GFS has really fallen down. The HMRF is really good for intensity but not so great for track. The UKMET is also a good model.
It's a shame but the Euros are beating us in the tropical models now.

Nah, my post was sarcastic. The models are all drunk right now and have no idea where the storm is going because there are basically zero steering currents. It's going to meander around the gulf for a week it seems.
That thing is stumbling all over the place

can I get a TL;DR summary of this storms projected path?
TLDR: no one has any real clue what it's going to do, because it's expected to be kept bottled up in that area for the next week. as such, it's too far out to be able to predict where it goes after that.Ferris Wheel Allstar said:
