Google maps saying 5.5 hours to get to new orleans from Houston. So it's all traffic heading west. May not be so bad going east, as long as you're going far enough east to get out of the hit.

When I use waze for BR, it almost never has me go over the big bridge. I always get detoured to back roads.

That's weird I didn't edit anything not sure what happened.

We went I20. Listened to the stros pound the As and even ate dinner at a whataburger in Ruston. (Didn't taste as good as the Texas version though)

hardly any traffic oddly enough. 2 hours further north than planned but no biggy.

So long as you don't need to have a major pee break on the Atchafalaya Bridge, yes that works. Been there many times.

I admit to stopping a couple of times for pee breaks and filling up the tank just in case I hit a wall. I usually make it from NOLA to Bucees in Baytown without any pee breaks wasn't chancing it last night.

Exit of I-10 almost right after the bridge and it intersects again with 10 in Vinton. I don't even know if it was necessary but a very minor detour if there was any traffic where indicated by google maps.
