Along with this, in Mando's mind, BY did not have the comprehension ability to know that Mando was not rescuing him for altruistic motives. Now, we already knew BY was force sensitive at this point so he may have been able to see visions of Mando helping him but only the writer's know on that front so far.

Everyone gets an exercise bike hooked up to the grid and you get one character on the internet for every second you pedal. When the grid needs a boost we can have surge pedaling. I think there was a black mirror episode kinda like this.
