Good stuff in there, but the real arc probably isn't that cool. Actually, the sub levels do have a bit of a Total Recall feel, if you want to believe it's on mars.

Still, philosophy and naked robots work for me

I really don't see why being on another planet would make a difference.

The sub levels were probably part of the park before the big problem they had 30 years ago. Like the old Jurassic Park ruins were in the new Jurassic Park.

Or it could just be a futuristic Houston...

I assume that sub level was the old lobby. As they needed more space they built floors above and encased them in terraformed Mesa to keep the Wild West look.


God knows what sort of horrors Disney has hidden in their secret lab in Space Mountain.....

    in the middle it looks like a stick figure person with stretched out arms and legs like how the robots are created. I wonder if Ed Harris is trying to get to the robot creation place to make new robots or something

    Something else. Are we sure something happened thirty years ago at the park? When I was watching the show I figured that was just a throw away line to say that the park had been open thirty years and nothing had gone wrong in that time. Sort of the standard horror movie "don't worry, this always works" kind of line.

    Granted the tie in to the movie is obvious, and there are hints that the park is much, much older than 30 years. Squaring those facts takes some work as well.

    Maybe I'm just a sucker for grand fantasy, but I'd like to think the facility (if maybe not the theme park) is hundreds of years old. Although I thought I saw that the setting was supposed to be in the 21st century. Maybe that's misdirection though.

    I think Lowe mentions to Cullen that there hasn't been a critical failure in 30 years, and she replies "then I guess we are overdue"... so the park was probably operating at least shortly before then I would guess
