IIRC from the books, Arya sees her wolf dragging Kat from the river. So, that would be shortly after Arya arrived at Bravos and got settled in.

2) when we see her in the epilogue of book 3, we don't know how long she's been with the brotherhood - they've clearly established her as the "leader" by then and have been hanging freys for a while

Would it not make for a dramatic ending end the episode with the Brotherhood about to hang/behead/whatever some Frey men and have the last thing they see prior to being killed is Un-cat with a huge scar on her throat, then loud music, then the screen goes black suggesting that cat isn't "dead" and is out for blood?

It was while she was with Sandor, right after. She wanted to go back, but he insisted Cat was dead. So Arya wargs into her wolf one night and sees the corpse and stops fighting the Hound.

Arya dreamed about Nymeria and Cat just a few days after the RW. She was still with the Hound and had been asking him to go back to look for her mother. The next morning he says "the thing about your mother" and Arya interrupts him and tells him that she saw her in a dream and her mother is dead. It's one of the saddest exchanges in the book.

Cat was dead a day and a half before the Freys stripped her and threw her in the water and then was in the water for three days until Nymeria pulled her out and Beric brought her back, according to Thoros.

Say what you will, but I do not think the Hound needs to be redeemed. He may scoff at the stories and the men who hold the title of knight, but when it all comes down to it, he is the closest thing to a true knight in the books, at least in the way he watches for each of the Stark girls without asking anything in return. Really, if you think back on it, other than killing Mycah, there is little he does that coud actually be considered detestable.

The Hound is one of my favorite characters. I hope he makes it to the end.

My main question is... Does Lady Stoneheart appear in E10 this year or next?

They have to at least hint at it, otherwise it completely loses all of its emotional impact, plus it gives the show watchers something to look forward to.

I'm going to really nerd out here with a prediction about Lady Stoneheart. I mainly just want to have it on the record in case I'm right (or in case I need to eat crow if I'm wrong)!

Episode 10 is called "Mhysa". There is also a beautiful song on the GoT Season 3 Soundtrack called Mhysa as well. It really is an epic song, except at the end there is this one strangely ominous note, and then it abruptly ends. I'm going to predict that if they use that song before the credits, it will be over a montage of stuff Dany has done, then maybe the Wall, and finally the aftermath of the Red Wedding...where Beric is seen through the eyes of a direwolf as he revives someone. Then as the ominous note of Mhysa plays, Stoneheart opens her eyes. Credits roll. Season over.

Man, I really hope I didn't accidentally post this in the non-spoiler thread!

She will absolutely be in episode 10. If not, then they really missed the ball.

Exactly how I pictured it. I wish they would just use the epilogue from SoS tho

absolutely agree, slim. i noticed that ending of the Mhysa track too, it was a complete thematic shift and foreshadowed the resurrection imo

That looks extremely cheesy. Like happy cat photoshopped onto a body.

I hope no UnCat already. I thought it was nearly a shark jump in the books - to bring her back so soon means, in our minds, she was dead for like 60 minutes. That's worse than the Bran/Rickon reveal

Michelle Fairley has signed on for Suits, so I'm pretty sure her role next year will be diminished regardless.

The question that remains is, do you bring her back at the S03E10 or S04E10?

I think there's a legit argument to both, but for the shows sake I think it would be better to bring her back in the last episode. It will stress the increasing importance of magic.

In the show, no. Nobody did. That's what was wrong with it.

I know everyone knows Cat is dead, but bringing her back right away would just seem... I don't know, hokey. Like showing the White Walkers at the very end of S2, so that everyone expects them to be a major point, and then they go on to essentially do nothing for the next 20 episodes.

Bringing back Cat now is just a smoke screen - she won't play an importance for at least a few seasons. May as well defer the hype.

Just my two cents

They need to leave the viewership with something positive. TV viewership just doesn't have the same commitment as readers.

Even though UnCat doesn't progress the plot much, they could still create some new scenes where she finds/kills random Freys. Everyone wants to see the Freys/Bolton burn and this would be an easy way to gratify the fanbase without departing from the books too much. They will need to find ways to keep some of the main characters involved before they make everyone learn the Dorne/Mireen/Iron Islands storylines.

I'm really curious as to how they are going to do cold hands, considering we don't know who our what he is yet.

I still don't grasp why people think a zombie cat who's face has partially decomposed, can't speak, and has lost her humanity as well as everything that made her a loving maternal character and her mind is twisted solely for revenge now is a "positive" thing, or will make tv viewers happy.
Greeze06
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Because "hope" is generally viewed as a positive thing .

how is zombie cat a "hope" inducing character? She has no future. Her purpose is solely revenge. Its honestly one of the sadder things in the book imo. Its the complete deconstruction of Cat's character and the dominance of the basest of desires. She loses everything that defined her and becomes something else instead. Hardly a happy or hopeful storyline.
Greeze06
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Because she is a Stark and they are the typical "good" guys while the Lannister faction is considered the "bad" guys. TV viewers aren't as aware to everything she stood for. They just witnessed their "team" basically get destroyed. Stoneheart in the finale will give hope that the Starks are still at play and the bad guys still have some hurdles.

I think some people are making big mistakes trying to view a tv series as a book. The delivery channel is different. Emotions are different when reading a book. It cannot be captured in its entirety on screen so scenes must be altered to optimize its affect that would otherwise not be feasible to a tv series.

1. The show watchers know none of that, so to them it can only be a good thing.

2. To your point about her looking like a zombie, they probably didn't have her scratch her face for a reason (so Fairley will be recognizable as Stoneheart)

3. Who doesn't like a little revenge?

How long do you want to ignore this user?
even in the book i thought stoneheart's appearance and actions were awesome and a positive note

yeah there's a dark twist to it, but it's basically a classic revenge story
LawAg05
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Revenge is what everyone wants after the Red Wedding. UnCat is in the revenge business and I think they could do a lot with her waging a guerrilla type war against the Freys.

While revenge killing isn't generally a "positive" thing, I doubt you will find too many bleeding hearts over killing Freys.

Where is Strong Belwas? It's been a long time since I read the books, but shouldn't he be in the story by the time Dani sacked Yunkei?
