Awesome. I've read all 5 books currently written and can't wait for RR to come to A&M in March!

Season 3 related: So apparently RR will be in charge of directing "The Red Wedding" which will be Episode 9 of season 3. FYI, A Storm of Swords will be split into two seasons.

*****EXTREME EXTREME SPOILERS BELOW********

What do YOU want to see in the TV adaptation of the Red Wedding? I remember reading it on a plane last summer on my way to Japan from Houston and I cried my eyes out. I damned RR, as an avid Stark fan and one who adores Ned (not to mention Sean Beans portrayal of him that was the performance of a lifetime) I was crestfallen at the brutality of the Stark slaughter. Yet, over time I've come to appreciate the dark, literary beauty of that scene. I hope they don't hold back at all. Viewers need to be disgusted, to cry, and to feel that exact same impact.

Also, I saw in an interview somewhere with RR they asked, "What should fans look forward to in Season 3?" And this ass said, "Get ready for a wedding"

My wife completely gave up on the books because of the Red Wedding. I'm sure HBO will try to do it in a way that doesn't risk losing viewers, but I'm not sure that's possible. It could kill the series. HSAT, though, I can't wait to see it.

I was thinking the same thing and you're probably right. I can hope I guess. But I tell all my friends who just watch the show not to give up on the series. 99% of them love Robb and are convinced he is going to get revenge on the Lannisters and the rest of the Southern lords

maybe i'm in the minority but i almost felt like Ned's death was tougher to take than the red wedding. it was an agonizing build-up with no satisfying payoff, while the red wedding came out of nowhere and really threw you for a loop. it was great story-telling

i feel like the viewers who made it through s1e9 will still be here after s3e9

I really think that the setup to the wedding will be for an obvious interior attack from Frey. They will build him up o be a villain basically and people will be like... Well I saw that comjng

Agreed that Ned's death took me more to get over than the RW. Ned's death set the tone that "Holy ****, he could kill anybody".

The RW was just so far out there that I was grinning maniacally the first time I read it.

Don't give up. The series kind of declines in Book 4 and rises again in 5. There's still a chance for the North to gain revenge ... Via Jon and Sansa's stories ... But I understand. It's the most challenging thing I ever had to read or get over and I feel like many mainstream viewers will give up after

I dont understand why people get emotionally invested in characters. For me there is a 4th wall, what happens to em happens.

Someone posted the recommended chapter order for books 4 & 5 in one of the other threads. If you're having difficulty staying interested during AFFC, try using that.

Helllllll yeah. I was shocked after reading the Red Wedding chapter. Just one of those "no ****ing way" utterances and I had to put the book down. Will be interesting and horrifying to see portrayed this season.

I was reading the books, but my husband hasn't and I got to the red wedding and I just yelled out something like "oh my God, they killed Robb!" Opps! After that he just asked me to summarize the books for him.

I am rereading GoT right now for the fourth time since 2007. It gets better every time. Even book 4 is bad ass when you consider all the back story. Lots of moving pieces in the series that you have to look at as one entire work of art.

SPOILER: I am looking forward to Season 4 when JB gets what's coming to him.

I don't understand all the shock with the red wedding... you had to see it coming, maybe not the full brutality of it... but I thought GRRM made it pretty clear the Frey's weren't people who'd accept Robb's marriage and just get over it.

I'm about halfway through Feast for Crows now and I am making myself slow down so I can drag it out longer. No idea when book 6 will come out.

Someone help me out here. When Dany went in to the House of the Un-dieing, did she see a room with a man on a throne with a wolf's head? I guess that was the foreshadowing of Rob's Stark's murder and mutiliation.
