I just can't say definitely, not when it's possible that "mummer" refers to Varys, not false. Although I wouldn't put it past Varys to make a false aegon.

There are two prophecies. Quathe tells her not to trust the "mummer's dragon" which leaves into interpretation that its a real dragon associated with a mummer. However Dany also see's this in her dream in the House of the Undying.

In the section that ends ". . . mother of dragons, slayer of lies . . ." one of the things she sees is "A cloth dragon swayed on poles amidst a cheering crowd."

Agreed. it is Mummer's Dragon meaning he is the dragon beloning to the Mummer or Vary's.

quote:
I don't think its out of the realm of possibility that Aegon is a Blackfyre. It may even be likely. But I think that the fact that he has the Golden Company's support is not necessarily a direct indicator of this, and that its the some of thr weakest evidence for the theory.

Thank you. Like i posted earlier it is too big of a conspiracy that the golden company knows who Aegon "really" is, but he and Jon Connington don't. If they were breaking a contract for this reason the word would have gotten out long before now.

Dev, I still don't get why you think it's too big a conspiracy. As I said before, it would take no more than 10 people to be in on it for it to be accomplished. Aegon wouldn't even have to know, himself.

The quote is:

quote:
we know… the shape of shadows… morrows not yet made… drink from the cup of ice… drink from the cup of fire… Mother of Dragons… Child of Three… three heads has the dragon… three fires must you light: one for life and one for death and one to love… three mounts must you ride: one to bed and one to dread and one to love… three treasons will you know: once for blood and once for gold and once for love… daughter of death, slayer of lies, bride of fire…

Looking at that context those three things appears to be things that have already happened for foreshadowing - Daughter of death - danearys sotrmborn and her mom dying during birth. Slayer of Lies - She not Visery's is the true dragon, bride of fire - obviously the funeral pyre

He could really be Aegon, or he could not be. The important thing is that Dany shouldn't trust him
JJxvi
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Daughter of death, slayer of lies, and bride of fire are also associated with three visions each.

Daughter of death-Rheago, Viserys, Rheagar

Slayer of lies-Stannis (king with no shadow wielding a red sword), Aegon (a cloth dragon on poles being cheered), unknown stone beast breathing shadow fire

Bride of Fire-Drogo, Vicatarion? A stone corpse on the bow of a ship, and Jon Snow?, a blue flower growing at the base of a wall of ice.

. . .help her . . . the whispers mocked. . . . show her . . .

Then phantoms shivered through the murk, images in indigo. Viserys screamed as the molten gold ran down his cheeks and filled his mouth. A tall lord with copper skin and silver-gold hair stood beneath the banner of a fiery stallion, a burning city behind him. Rubies flew like drops of blood from the chest of a dying prince, and he sank to his knees in the water and with his last breath murmured a woman's name . . .mother of dragons, daughter of death . . . Glowing like a sunset, a red sword was raised in the hand of a blue-eyed king who cast no shadow. A cloth dragon swayed on poles amidst a cheering crowd. From a smoking tower, a great stone beast took wing, breathing shadow fire. . . mother of dragons, slayer of lies . . . Her silver was trotting through the grass, to a darkling stream beneath a sea of stars. A corpse stood at the prow of a ship, eyes bright in his dead face, grey lips smiling sadly. A blue flower grew from a ***** in a wall of ice, and filled the air with sweetness . . . mother of dragons, bride of fire . . .

I wonder who is going to fight Robert strong on behalf of the faith
aggie93
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Technically the greater charge is the murder of Robert the King so I think they have stated it must be a KG member to defend the King's honor. That's part of why I think it will be Jaime.

How freaking awesome would a Jaime/Robert Strong trial be? One of Cersei or Jaime would have to die.

I think Robert Strong as the Queens champion vs a certain oversized novice brother as the Faith's champion might be pretty cool. .

SOrry to throw a completely separate question into the current line of dialog, but are we sure that they are going to introduce Lady Stoneheart/Undead Cat AT ALL in the series?

if they are (and should), the producers and actors are doing a damn good job covering it up. Every article i have read mentions losing her from the cast, even interviews from her and the D&D. Plus there is the fact that she signed on as a recurring character in Suits. Maybe I am just reading in between the lines far too much, but it does seem like she was not returning at all, thereby losing out on Stoneheart wrecking shop on some Freys, and shooting holes in the theory that she revives Jon down the line. i guess she could be recasted, but that would be stupid IMHO.

America's destiny is not of our own choosing. We did not seek nor did we provoke an assault on our freedom and our way of life. We did not expect nor did we invite a confrontation with evil. Yet the true measure of a people's strength is how they rise to master that moment when it does arrive.

might take place in the context of a larger battle but won't be one on one. Cersei's innocence/guilt will be determined by a trial of the seven. GRRM put far too much work into setting that up. Lancel will be involved fighting for the faith, Robert strong will be involved fighting for the queen, and beyond that its anyones guess.

yes there is a theory sandor is alive and became a brother on that isle where everyone was sworn to silence that Brienne went to. Can't think of the name.

who thought stoneheart was going to revive Jon? That's absurd. They are thousands and thousands of miles apart.

I believe the conversation with the brother and Brienne you referenced was metaphorical and intended to show that "The Hound" is dead but Sandor Clegane is alive. He is the large grave digger spotted on the Quiet isles.

Stoneheart has only been seen twice in the books. They could just sign her on an episode by episode basis.

The Faith being re-militarized and being the accuser against Cersei. It was an old tradition of the faith and i'd expect them to try and do something to stack the odds in their favor rather than face a singular Robert Strong seeing that Cersei would have to then find 6 others to be her champion or be found guilty by default.

Comes with multiple readings when you are on a constant lookout for hints. Like the person from that reddit thread who caught the story of the metallic dragon sign that was initially black (Blackfyre), was cast into a river, and came ashore red (Targaryen).

It's the chapter in AFFC where Brienne, Pod and Ser Hyle go to the Quiet Isle monastery. They see a huge novice with an obvious limp among the brothers, and Sandor's horse is in the stable. The Elder Brother tells Brienne that the Hound died in his arms, and now Sandor is at peace. Two paragraphs later, he speaks of how he himself "died" at the Trident, and was reborn as a monk. On a careful read, he never says that Sandor is dead, only the Hound. And earlier in that chapter it's mentioned that Elder Brother is an extremely gifted healer, able to save people even the Maesters can't heal.

I just can't imagine Sandor is done in this story. I agree about the trial of seven; I doubt having him fight unGregor in single combat is happening. But it's on the table.

Ps Sandor is also a valonqar

Just re-read the chapter. A lot of clues pointing to Sandor as the gravedigger. I would expect Brienne to recognize him when he was serving food, it's not like he can really hide his face. Also, the septon said he covered his body with rocks to keep the carrion eaters from eating his flesh. But... That's probably him, knowing GRRM.
