you put a lot of effort into that. Kudos

If you've read the books, there is a decent chance you will either consciously or subconsciously steer the conversation off the natural path. People may learn that the opposite of what you say is normally right. Or if you try to steer them off a path, the path is probably right. Or whatever you say happens to be true. What you comment on is often a spoiler in itself, it shows them that a particular scene or action holds future importance.

On the actual show. I'm sad with how they have handled Sam so far. They've really neutered any of the growth he had up to this point. While he didn't grow much beyond the wall, he did boost his confidence and become more confident. Hopefully they will be able to incorporate that later in the show.

Also, at this point I don't see how they will be able to create a believable seen where Cersei gets the best of Margaery. Margaery is being portrayed as being in a whole other league compared to her.

Seriously? Yes, I specifically mentioned the RW right there. <shakes head>

Why say anything at all?

I don't understand you guys who have read the books who feel the need to post on the non-spoiler thread. Is that how you make yourself feel important?

I have no idea what is going to happen in the show.

As has been pointed out repeatedly, the show does not completely follow the books.

Really?

BTW, Dany's taking of Astapor was the best scene of the entire series, as far as I'm concerned.

Absolutely BOSS.

I feel the same way, but I think the show writers will use his escape with Gilly from Craster's to jumpstart Sam's development.

Sam definitely needs some help character wise. I don't know why they took out "Sam the Slayer" though maybe they still put it in now. I wish they would have had his last words with Mormont as well. They just have made Sam very hard to like in the show.

Wasn't gilly the one that forces him to leave Craster's in the book though? He did seem like in the show he was like we have to leave!

why cant you guys just stay off that thread? They have pretty much said several times they dont want readers on there. I dont know why some of you guys feel the need to either 'enlighten' them or pretend like nonreaders. There are plenty of resources on the internet if they want to know more, or they can come ask on this thread.

not necessarily directed at you BTK, i just find it dumb that readers go over there and pretend like nonreaders. seems juvenile to me and it just turns into spoiler arguments over and over. ok im done ranting.

well said.

Agree with everyone else about posting on the other thread. They have created two threads for a reason. imo it is selfish to influence their discussion when you know the answers. The only reason I can see anyone would do it was to prove how smart you are when all your hints turn out to be true.

poor form.

I don't think it's fair to lump all of us into one category. some of don't give any hints at all

We know the general outline of the series and upcoming plot direction. Hence the title of the thread "spoilers allowed." Thats how.

Using your post as an example -- the content of the letters Tywin was writing obviously set up the RW. We all know that. They dont. When they start to discuss the importance of the seal of the Hand of the King and its significance given the multiple close ups shots on the letters, then you casually direct them to what that scene really meant i.e. focus on the content of what he is writing and to whom versus the stamp he uses -- this is called a push in the right direction. Some might call it a spoiler.

You are an adult and can post what you want. I'm not going to debate this with you. I just think it is narcissism to point them in the right direction.

Well, on this thread people have read the books and have an equal chance of knowing what is or is not going to happen. They all have the same level of information.

On that thread people have NOT read the books and thus they don't know what is going to almost certainly happen.

The books and show are different but in very small ways, the major plot lines are the same. Probably the biggest difference so far is Robb marrying an Essos woman instead of a Westerling but even then it doesn't change the primary issue involved which is Robb breaking his promise to marry a Frey and the consequences that will have.

I mainly go to the other thread just to read but when I do post I keep it strictly to the show and don't give any hint as to where the story might be going. It's interesting to see someone's perspective that hasn't read the books. If anything my posts are misleading to where the plot is going and they are almost always in response to a question. For instance someone asked about who the folks were with Bran. I gave them only the information in the show but left a lot out and gave no hint as to what their purpose was, thus giving them enough information to follow along but not enough to have any idea what is going to happen. I never tell them one thing is more important than something else and stay clear of any of their speculation. Even then I sometimes think I post too much there.

The only posters suffering from narcissism are you and aggie93.

EDIT: terrible grammar.

Yes I am. His comment was nothing more than a sophomoric attempt to belittle other posters. He acts like he is a psychologist that knows and understands the motivations of other posters.

His ignorant statement is similar to stating that posters on this thread only post here to show how smart they are.

They are both equally dumb.

BTK makes reading both threads unbearable, quite a feat.

Just stay off the non readers thread, it isn't hard. Let them enjoy the show and we can enjoy their reactions.

Just do like I do and focus on how hot Dany is on the show. I'm only now starting to forget that the last two audio books turned her into the ancient grandmother crone of an IRA fighter.

Can ya'll please get back on topic...I'm one of those that started on the Non-spoiler thread as I've not read any of the books, only watched the shows...but I find myself more interested and very impatient so I switched to this thread.

As a non-reader I appreciate ya'lls conversations, but it's becoming a pi$$ing match over here...if BTK wants to be a jerk, let him...no need to lecture him because all it does is enhance it idiocracy and limit the information ya'll put out on this thread...discard him and continue to feed me info...that is all...

NOTE: and no, since coming over here I no longer post comments and/or ask questions on the other thread as to not inadvertently spill anything I've read over here over there.

P.S. I couldn't beleive it when I read that Robb dies and how, but I got simple satisfaction from knowing that his mother "dies" as well...Martin sure does hate the Starks lol

so you get the story from us, but not the books? is it fun to watch the show and be like "aw yeah I know what's about to go down"?

How long do you want to ignore this user?
There just needs to be three threads.

Spoilers Thread - for people who have read the books or really don't care if they get spoiled.

Enhanced TV thread where people who read the books can explain the nuances to those who wish to see it, though no direct spoilers

No spoilers thread - if you have even cracked a book don't even reply.

When the winds of winter is released my only thought is you had better read fast.

Getting back to the actual topic of this thread:

Like the others i agree. My thought is maybe Edd and Gren catch up to Sam soon for and witness the Slayer moment then go on to find Coldhands.

Edit: prepyag - please do yourself a favor and pick up the books. While i'm sure everything has been spoiled at this point i really believe you are doing yourself a disservice by not having read them. If anything it will add a layer to the show.

Wow, you are watching the show and intentionally sought out spoilers? That's so strange to me. I wanted to know more so I read the books, I can't imagine just reading the Wikipidea page to find out about the RW. Would be so anticlimactic.

My reaction to Ned Stark getting his head cut off was not more/less climatic having not known about it than reading on this thread about Robb Stark and the Red Wedding. My reaction was the exact same...surprised as hell, disappointed to a certain extent, but wondering how that'll affect the story moving forward.

I'm assuming you watch the shows correct? What's the difference if someone gets the story from a book or from people that have read the book? My enjoyment of the show has nothing to do with the occasional spoiler I read on this thread. I don't read alot, and I skip quite a bit of ya'll conversations to leave some things to suspense, although I don't know what I don't know.

My biggest question is how they are going to move the Dany story. I can't believe they will leave her as GRRM wrote it because it will stagnate for seasons while everyone waits for her to do something instead of screw Daario and sit around watching people take a crap.

The show has almost set the bar too high with Dany becoming such a badass after this last episode.

Also, can't wait to read the other thread after the RW. I put the book down for about a week after that I was so pissed.

Readers really just need to stay off the non-readers thread, plain and simple.
Once someone lets something slip about you-know-what, all hell is going to break loose.
Before something like this happens, let's all make a pact to stay off that thread for good.

Does anyone disagree with this plan?
I would really like some input from those that have frequented these boards longer than myself.
Essentially, we could end all complaints if we just stick to it.
So is everyone in?

If so, we can copy and paste my post and the names of all those that agree to the non-spoiler thread to keep us honest.
