What? The US would have easily qualified with just a point at T&T, and any points at home against Mexico and Costa Rica. Trinidad was the only other team in the hex that lost two home games (and they beat us there). Yea I do remember that. That was some BS - I never thought it was conspiratorial at the time and I didn't want the US team to play victim. He's probably referring to how multiple results had to happen to knock us out of the World Cup. Multiple different games hit the exact shorelines they had to for us to miss out, including a goal that was clearly punched over the line by Panama I believe.

Anyway, not worth discussing anymore but I just disagree with settling for a tie with teams like Jamaica, El Salvador, Honduras unless the rest between games suck, the fields suck, etc. USA was pressuring a lot at the front but couldn't get it exactly right to convert it to a goal.
