Alaska didn't always have the most extreme weather, central US along the Canada border, that could be some extreme weather as well. They got it bad, but over the long haul 3-4' standing snow was the norm. You get sub 0, then add windchill...that's brutal.

For Texas, suck it up, this is a deep freeze, but huge difference to the '21 situation.

They said this in '21 too. Some bs about being on a pump system so people dripping their pipes will cause too big a pressure drop.

You can't freeze your pipes if you don't have enough water pressure to fill them.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if we see power outages due to the wind that comes through today.

I'm not worried about power on the grid level but more so on the local level to high winds, down lines, etc.

Yeah no precip expected so no icy roads. But yeah highway driving with 40+ mph winds won't be fun or easy on your gas mileage.

I drove from Houston to Durango into a front a little like this. Was an unbelievable beating driving my hippo on skates into that wind.

I at least have a sedan, so low to the ground... but good tips on being careful around tall vehicles, especially semis..
