Depends on if you're an old that goes to bed at 8. If not, your use between flushing toilets, running a dishwasher, etc would be fine until bed. Even then, I'd just set an alarm to wake up and run the faucets about 1 and 4 am.

Located in Cypress, drip the faucets or not? If so, what time to start the drip, now or just before going to bed?
I never lost power last year, yet had a pipe freeze and burst. Of course it was due to poor plumbing design and further exacerbated by lack of insulation on the pipe. I have an attached porte corchere and a pipe above my kitchen runs for a couple of feet within the porte corchere before going back into my exterior wall down to my refrigerator, kitchen sink and then on to a hose bibb. Sad thing was that I put my faucet on drip, but for some reason turned the handle all the way to hot.Seabreeze said:MarylandAG said:

If we don't lose power, and shouldn't (Knock on wood) you shouldn't have to drip faucets. But if it helps you sleep in peace, just do a lite drip before bed.

Just took a walk around my neighborhood, an older neighborhood by the way, and shocked to see 4-7 houses out of around 60, still with water hoses connected and maybe only 60% with outside faucets covered.
Maybe they have their water off already?

I like to add the bags of mulch to help break the wind and add as an insulator. Then once it warms up, open them up and spread through all my dead plants.

My neighbor spent a ton of money planting new stuff a month ago and did absolutely nothing to try to protect it. Could have kept themselves warm lighting those dollars on fire.
