I built a house in Shadow Creek Ranch in Pearland in 2008. Lived there about 10 years and we lost power all the damn time for seemingly no reason. Moved to innner city Houston and rarely lose power now, including during Harvey and the '21 freeze.Cromagnum said:jrrhouston98 said:

I didn't keep an exact count but shocked not more (and in my mind it should be every house) were covered.

Insane that there are Eastern and Western walls keeping the cold funneling here -- it's almost 60 degrees in Albuquerque. 40's in Utah. Above freezing in Michigan and Ohio.

Down here, ice is bad juju because we rarely see it and nobody really is prepared to handle it well for any significant amount of time.
Go up north and a 90 degree summer kills people.
Go to Phoenix and see what a 1" rain event does to the town. It shuts it down like ice does here.
