That was about a 4 or 5 minute slam where I thought we may have a small tornado (didn't)...now the wind isn't blowing and it is still out. Another band heading this way though.
11th St. over curb west of Yale. Concrete barriers completely submerged and invisible. Bike lanes gonna be good and seasoned now.

Near the Spring post office on Louetta I saw a woman standing on the roof of her car. Strip center parking lot under water.
Two pictures about 90 seconds apart. First it had barely crossed the road in front of our house. Second it was across the road for two houses on either side. The rain already subsided here for the most part in League City. It was just crazy how quick it went down the street. I wasn't surprised to see it directly in front out our house as the storm drains are on our curb, but I was surprised with how quick it happened.
On the way home, at W. TC Jester and 610 on the Southside, there was a homeless lady standing on the corner with her suitcase with only her bra on above her waist.

My grandmother's house near Preston/Crenshaw in Pasadena got hit. Cousin is Pasadena PD and said lots of damage in town.

Don't care myself. Better than it used to when most people would say "oh, the heights" for anything north of I-10.
Thought is weird when I first saw it at Cottonwood years ago. Is what it is.
My kids are 5th generation to the hood so it's not like I'm honking at the Shipley line.
Dumb decision by HISD to cancel after school care / activities since the storm has already passed but some streets are still flooded.

I remember being in high school in the late 90s when they cancelled school an hour after kids had showed up and the roads had since flooded with a lot of teachers out. My Bronco was good to go, but a lot of kids got to sit there all day and their parents were pissed. Pretty sure we got sent home with an apology letter from the superintendent a few days later.
And completely back to normal. Our houses are never in danger, but I think some people have ended up with flooded cars because it gets to car height so quick.
Early damage pictures in Pasadena look pretty bad.
