Curry with a Grade 1 Sprain, will be reevaluated in 2 weeks.

Does he play through it? Or sit and hope they win without him so he's healed by the WC Finals?
Nope, he is out two weeks, then they will test it again.

MCL is sprained. Grade 1 is the most mild sprain.
So the Rockets are just going to roll to three straight wins now, right?

Ha-ha, just kidding.

I think the Rockets are still an underdog to a Curry-less Warriors to win each game and they have to win three straight.

Chris Paul is playing incredible ball so well, so I think the Clippers can beat up on the weak Warriors in the next round, even though the Clippers are significantly worse than they were last year.

I get the feeling the Warriors will be apple to reach the conference finals without him... and then he'll come back and start raining 3's all over the friggin place!

run him through a zillion hard screens, that's my Curry game plan.

and a little voodoo.

Maybe the best thing would be to get the semis started as quickly as possible. The more Curry-less games vs the Clips, the better.

Pretty sure the Spurs have lost a title due to injuries. It happens. I doubt Currys injury is serious, but I'll be excited for the Spurs if it knocks him out of the playoffs.
Parker was injured in the Clippers first round series last year.

I think a more interesting question is - what does the 13-14 season look like without the fuel from game 6 in 2013?

If we win it in 2013, maybe we don't pull out that game 7 win vs Dallas. Maybe we lose the OKC series.

Agree. I think in addition to the injury problem, this is part of the reason they did not beat LAC last year. The hunger and intensity was not as strong as the previous 2 years.

But as to the comment that prompted this discussion, I don't give a damn who is injured and wouldn't mind seeing even a dysfunctional Rockets team in the WCF

The Rockets are done. They have quit. I'm pretty sure we could form a team of posters on this thread that could beat them in Game 5.

An underrated bonus to getting OKC next round is that it almost guarantees no 9:30 start times with 2 west coast teams playing each other in the other semi final matchup

Can't wait for the Spurs to destroy the mean muggin' thunder at full strength to end the Durant era.

I think Durant signs a 1y+1 contract to stay in OKC for one more year.

And then we get Durant?

I'm hoping we have Duncan, Manu, Gasol, West, and some other random late 2000s all star all on vet minimum contracts

The Spurs buzz is ascendant in a way that is eerily similar to what happened last Januaryat the D-League Showcase, when a half-dozen unconnected team executives warned me over the span of a few days that LaMarcus Aldridge would bolt from Portland for San Antonio. Who knows. At the very least, the Wizards will get a chance to make their pitch.
And then we get Gasol?

Parker/Mills/Miller
Green/Manu/Martin
Kawhi/Anderson/Simmons
Durant/Gasol/Diaw
Aldridge/Duncan

I think my head would explode.

Think Duncan/Manu retire, Green and/or Diaw have to be traded for it to work with Kawhi+LMA+Tony's salaries.

Manu almost retired last year.

If the Spurs win it all, that's a pretty damn great way to go out. Duncan with 6, Manu with 5.

Going out a winner looks like it feels pretty great.

Chris Paul broke a bone in his shooting hand, so he's likely done for the playoffs.

Unreal. The Warriors may beat the Clippers (or Portland) without Steph then could have him back for the series against us. Talk about luck (if it works out that way).

Griffin hurt his quad also. Not sure how serious it is.

With Paul almost certainly out, and Griffin iffy for the next game and likely to be somewhat hampered for the rest of the series, I think you have to call Portland the clear favorite to advance. Don't really see any chance that the Blazers can beat the Warriors in a series even if Curry misses the whole thing.

You'd rather have the Warriors at full strength than the Clippers sans CP3?

Edit: Nevermind, you mean lucky for the Warriors I'm assuming.

This is falling nicely into place. Now, if we can just get Westbrook to break his leg while going out to check his mail tonight, we will have a great path to SIX.

They dropped the odds on Warriors to win it all.

Clippers are 2-2 vs Portland and their two best players are injured, so no series there yet.
