You mean Coach Bud, right? Anyway, I have a hard time believing it was anything negative at all. From everything I 've heard they are best friends, and I'm sure they had dinner or at least talked later that night.

I remember the Jazz were the wall the Spurs couldn't get through in the '90s for the most part. I also remember a game late in the '99 Season when the Spurs won a tough one in SLC and that seemed to spark them for the rest of the season in to the playoffs for their first title. That was the first year of the post Jordan era after the Jazz lost in the Finals to the Bulls and a lot of folks thought that it might finally be their year. Back then it was really tough to win up there. That game was really the last gasp of the Malone/Stockton era as they never really threatened again afterwards and the Spurs found a new nemesis in the Lakers for the '00s.
I liked Stockton but never cared for Malone, always felt like a dirty player. Liked Jerry Sloan as well.

They were all kind of dirty, if your definition of dirty is being more physical than the play requires or the rules allow for the the purpose of intimidating the opponent. Sloan coached them that way, and Stocktom was at least as physical as Malone. The difference was that Malone's physicality was capable of causing some serious damage.
It didn't bother me. I actually admired their unselfishness and the way they would keep "pounding the Rock" before that became the Spurs mantra.
Malone sucks
Malone compounded being a dirty player with being a terrible human being.

It's becoming more and more clear that nobody is beating us in a series this year except maybe the Warriors. Although OKC is a tough matchup, our D is just too good this year.

I'm very curious to see how the matchup with GSW plays out. Its going to be the ultimate big vs small ball. I couldn't help notice that the Bucks did a lot of damage on the low post.
Otherwise, the Clips and OKC are tough as well. OKC is scary because they are very deep up front. Then You have Cleveland. When Kyrie comes back that team will be very very good.

While I too am pumped for the playoffs, I'd like to play a few more competitive teams. The schedule has been pretty light. But beating these bad teams so severely is a great sign.
Beating OKC in a series is going to be more than a chore if they're healthy. Durant and Westbrook are the only guys who scare me almost as much as Curry and Lebron. They can be crazy good if they're on and they will have a good D with Ibaka in the paint.
Crazy that a Spurs OKC 2nd round date seems almost inevitable this early in the year. Barring GSW / OKC implosion.
