I've been waiting to begin posting on TA until I found a forum that wasn't completely insane. Should have know it'd be the thread full of fellow spurs fans
The Rockets thread (myself included) has been competing with the zoo for biggest meltdown for the last couple of months. If you don't like insane and emotional people, you might wanna avoid that thread for awhile. But, welcome to the community!

Or if you don't want to be shot down just for asking what the score in a playoff game was

If the Rockets go 59-4 the rest of the way, they will tie the Warrior's record from last year.

I'm assuming you asked what the score was of a game that we lost?

Late in the season and especially in the playoffs the Rockets threads are like Mos Eisley, you just don't go there because of the scum and villainy.

ESPN Stats & Info names Duncan their Defensive Player of the Month

http://espn.go.com/blog/statsinfo/post/_/id/112105/defensive-player-of-the-month-tim-duncan

quote:
The San Antonio Spurs are in the midst of a defensive renaissance, allowing 93.4 points per 100 possessions, which would be the best by any team over the last decade and the fourth-best over the last 30 seasons (behind two other Duncan-led Spurs teams and the 2003-04 Detroit Pistons).

And while conventional wisdom would say that reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year Kawhi Leonard is the linchpin (he is incredible), it's the 39-year-old Duncan who continues to be the pillar on which San Antonio's defense rests.

Let's start by looking at Real Plus-Minus (RPM), which looks at the impact a player has on his team per 100 possessions and has separate defensive and offensive components. Duncan rates by far the best in Defensive RPM, adding a value of 5.89 points per 100 defensive possessions. The next-best player in Defensive RPM in November was Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan (plus-4.34).

Just how much better than Jordan was Duncan? The gap between those two is larger than the gap between Jordan and the 14th-rated player in Defensive RPM.

Duncan might be immortal. Some players have managed to keep a good offensive game up until 40, but I'd imagine that playing DPOY-level defense at 39 has never been done before (or even close).

No matter how many times I see BSB's dunk, I always think he's not gonna reach the rim.

Unbelievable.

It is a traveshamockery that Duncan never won DPOY.

I think that would be a good retirement gift from the NBA.

That would be cool.

Then Tim would forget about it after he retires and the Spurs would throw it in a cabinet with all the Coach of the Year awards Pop didn't want.

It's ok, I lose my sanity during the playoffs. It's a reasonable compromise

When Aldridge and Green remember how to shoot this team is going to be freaking sick. As is, it's still very good.

I know I've mentioned it before but I was at the game when they handed the DPOY trophy to Marcus Camby and Timmy stared down Camby the entire 'ceremony'. If Tim had telekinetic powers Camby would have been incinerated immediately. And then Timmy feasted on Camby on both ends all night long.

That was also the night I was a couple of seats away from Josh Childress and was amazed at his geometrically perfect sphere of an afro.
