What's it take for Kawhi to start getting calls in this game?

Wouldn't be surprised if Pop waves the white flag soon. My confidence of beating the Warriors in the WCF is pretty low right now. We can't beat them their for whatever reason this year. We crapped the bed both times. Very disappointing
meh. The Spurs will have to be locked in. You never know how the injury situation will look either

All that there, they're, their is confusing. We should just not use it, don't you agree?

Apparently not going to happen. He's getting murdered out there.

Golden State is legitimately good at defense and offense, but we make uncharacteristic mistakes @ GS so far this year.

Leonard getting mugged out there. Also draymond has become a player I really don't like

Thank you. I agree. Even low tier teams go in there and play sharper game

Pop should have just rested the starters, but maybe he's playing head games.

Not surprised. Hope Pop accomplished what he wanted because I still don't understand. Should be an interesting one on Sunday.

If anything, at least the spur should understand now that if you play careless in Golden State you are going to get an ass beating

Also, GS is really good. But the Spurs are really good too. They have played absolutely terrible for whatever reason at GS both times this year.

What is this, about 20 dunks in one game?

And most all of them easy and unguarded.

Apparently the warriors have discovered a TOTALLY NEW CONCEPT called a backdoor cut and the spurs are totally flummoxed by this confusing new world. Protip: Curry is really good, but it's still better to give up a Curry three than a wide open dunk.

Spurs make FTs, early layups and close quarters 1-3 and this game is a coin flip.

Pop got a chance to see how Warriors counter switching (cuts), so we will see his change Sunday.

Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge left the game late in the first quarter with a dislocated right pinky finger. Trainers taped it to his ring finger and he returned in the second quarter.

"It freaked me out," he said. "I had never had it happen to me before. I looked down and it was going the other direction. It definitely caught me off guard. They popped it in, I went back in real quick, and as soon as I touched the ball it went right back out. It didn't feel right the whole night."
Well this cannot be good.

Actually 538 ran the numbers on this earlier in the season and showed that Curry shooting contested threes was better than anyone else on the team shooting open layups.

I think his shooting is off a bit lately though.

No, to rest them for a long playoff expedition, and so something like last night wouldn't happen. It's much different if that score was put up against the backups.

Some of Pop's resting moves are mental and/or vindictive. However, most of it is about being healthy and rested for the playoff run. If you think it's about the regular season, you should just stop.

I have never seen a team utilize the backdoor better than GS. They have really mastered that part of the game.

I've stated that I would have rested as well, but I'm guessing Pop really wanted to get another look at GS at full strength. I know Kerr is talking about resting now since they have the 1 locked up so who knows what we will see on Sunday. I'm sure they will all still play.

Spurs will likely be without Aldridge now though for the rest of the season IMO so GS is likely to come break our home streak now as well. So glad we played everyone last night.

Now that seeds 1-4 are locked in place, what's our preferred set of playoff matchups to help the Spurs get to the finals?

I like the following:
1-Warriors vs 8-Jazz (much tougher series than the mavs, and better chemistry than the rockets who I would expect to fold immediately)
2-Spurs vs 7-Mavs (Dirk has done a great job keeping them afloat, but they don't have the horses to keep up)
3-Thunder vs 6-Trailblazers (by far the best team of the bottom 4 right now, need them to wear our OKC)
4-LAC vs 5-Grizzlies (I don't know how the Grizzlies are even in this position, it's quite remarkable, but the best thing to slow down the warriors is a rested Clippers team that dispatches the Grizzlies quickly)

Thoughts?

Do dislocated fingers usually persist for a while? I'm thinking Pop may sit Aldridge for the next Warriors game.

This, but put in Rockets instead of Mavs.

If you think you can just rest a month straight and then beat OKC you are sorely mistaken my friend. The Spurs will rest against Denver and Dallas. Then they'll likely sweep the 7 seed the first round and be off for a week before seeing OKC. You have to give your core guys minutes to keep them sharp.

No team that competes at a high level wants to sandbag for 3-4 weeks and then flip a switch.

I swear some of you are BAS nancies
