Everyone does realize that Pop is pretty damned intense competitor right? Sure, if he has to decide between being healthy for the playoffs and winning 72 then its a no-brainer. But you all act like he would intentionally tank. The only time he did that was when it was a 4 game in 5 night situation and he wanted to stick it to the NBA schedule makers.

Picture the Spurs about to play their 6th game in 9 days; the previous 5 included OKC, Golden State twice, and three games in four nights on the road. Their seed is locked in and they are playing at Dallas on the second night of a back to back to end the regular season with two days off until the playoffs start.

Not implausible that at least two players stay in SA or play so little that they might as well have, even in the unlikely event that SA goes into the game with 71 or 72 wins.

Ive seen this pre game stuff before and then have it be blackout when the game starts. Im in Houston. Do you know for certain the channel wont go black out at tipoff? I can't imagine NBA TV letting another station broadcast the game.

I'm in the Bay area and watching pregame in hotel room. Very complimentary of Spurs organization from top to bottom and what GS is striving to achieve. Says more pressure on GS to win tonight in attempt to get Spurs' monkey off their back, recognizing that a win will only be one step. Lots of excitement since maybe the biggest regular season game ever. Added that Spurs bench would win 62 games. Go Spurs Go!!!
