So much for catching up on the Warriors.
You'd be much happier if you looked at it differently: The Spurs have played so well this year that they have wrapped up the 2 seed with 20 games to go. Crazy turn around from the situation we were in last year.
We can easily afford to have games like this. We easily take it if we make half of the wide open looks we bricked.

The Spurs simply refuse to pick up ground on the Warriors lately.
Good thing is though, since December 11, Golden State is 32-6. San Antonio is 35-5.
I have that feeling though that not having HCA is ultimately going to cost the Spurs.

Shooting was terrible in the 1st quarter. EVERYONE was cold. I haven't seen the entire team this cold in a long time. Missing open layups, open mid-range,open threes. Still had a chance to win in the end. I guess in a long season you can expect to have games like that.
Late game play/coaching was pretty sloppy. Pretty much all iso for Kawhi way out past the three point line, which isn't where he typically starts with the ball. Story of the game was missing shots they usually hit though.
With the loss and Warriors win, it's probably about time to go into cruise control until end of the season. Rest and low minutes from here on out. Got a 10 game lead with 19 games to go.

As dominant as the Spurs have been, the offense still looks sloppy for extended periods of time. I hope they use the challenging schedule to optimize things on that end of the floor. Also need to keep some heat on Golden State (who is the only team that appears to have reached their ceiling this year).
The Spurs will need to be in 2014 Beautiful Game mode to have a chance to knock off the warriors without HCA.
Anyone know how many games there have been with the entire team healthy and getting minutes?

I really don't think that HCA matters as much to a team like SA.

No they don't control it. Spurs could win out and not get the 1 seed. That is by definition not controlling your destiny. Dumb twat.
Great win, after disappointing loss sans Pop. In Pop & RC we should trust, Miller was a darn good, steady professional point guard; stepped and lead this team in only his 2nd game here. It's looking like another great pickup especially with Parker ailing, Patty off the bench gunning up 3s and bringing insane energy really is his best role.
I'm not posting late at night anymore. My brain barely functions as it is.
Was impressed with Andre Miller last night. He's obviously lost some capabilities almost being 40 years old and all but the offense really runs well with him at PG already and he's such a great passer its nice too see. I think he will prove to be a nice pickup and it's going to be nice to have a steady PG like that if we need it in the playoffs.

Martin still has some gas in the tank. It will be interesting to see how quickly he can catch on to the Spurs defensive principles and offensive sets. He could have been a difference-maker if he'd been on board all season, but I don't know how much he can be relied upon in the playoffs given the short time he will have had with the team.
He seems like an easy fit. He is already good at getting to the FT line and he can hit 3s. The only question is his defense.
It's not like we need him to run the O or play pick & roll.
