I really like this team. Truth is, Pop led the 3 pointer mathematical advantage revolution, and then right as it began exploding in popularity across the NBA, he went and grabbed two of the best perimeter defenders in the league in Green and Leonard. We're now built to defend offenses like the Warriors' and the Rockets', who are great from the outside, but can't reliably create from the inside. 5 years ago, Howard could have handled the interior by himself, but he's no longer good enough to do that. He'll have his throwback games, but he's not the Shaq-esque dominator that he used to be.
How's GS going to play us in a 7 game series? If we put Green and Kawhi on Thompson and Curry, are Barnes and Green going to carry the team? Bogut? I'm just not seeing it, especially with the number of offensive weapons we have in the front court. They don't have the personnel to defend our waves of quality big men.
On the big men: it's funny. Pop transitioned to the beautiful game offense that's now famous. But now that we're there and have perfected it, we could do some real damage by mixing in a lot of the old school iso plays. Aldridge, Duncan, West, and to a lesser extent Diaw... that's an extremely versatility front court that has a lot of power to go with a lot of range. Oh, and they can all pass.
The legit concern is Parker. He has aged quicker than Duncan the last three years.

Hopefully not too slow, we saw what happened last year with a slow start that we were never able to fully recover from and ended up with the 7 seed.

The football season (Aggies & Cowboys) has been brutal... full of promise and heartache... mostly heartache... why do I only remember the heartache!!!!!

Eh, a win would be nice but this time of year is about seeing how the new pieces fit. No reason to be too concerned about W/L in games before January.
