Deaths have really plummeted over the past month, which is great news. New cases as plateaued, which is interesting. We're due for the next wave to hit....hopefully it has started already and our vaxxing is keeping it down.
We'll see. We're not due for COVID season until the summer.

We haven't trailed the East Coast by 4+ months on the other waves. It is typically about a month.
The northern region peaked in mid April last year and this year. We peaked in July last year, along with the rest of the sunbelt.

In a surprising twist, I went to my local Chipotle last night and there was no mask sign requirement so I went in sans mask. I was the only person in the entire place without one including the several 3-4 yr olds that were wearing them.

I've noticed Chipotle has stopped enforcing theirs in the last week or so. They were adamant nazis about it before. People who mask 3 and 4 year olds while not on a plane are idiots.
Places like Chipotle know exactly what they are doing. They absolutely crushed during the pandemic because of how they handled mask-policies.

They didnt define 'small gathering" so, for better or worse, they are leaving it to the states, cities, venues to make that determination. As it effects the Arboretum, if they simply continue to restrict the number and timing of admissions, one would think guests could be maskless.
