217 & 24 yesterday... reporting of deaths catching up with July spike

Deaths always seem to spike on Tuesday's. Has Clay Jenkins looked into banning Tuesday's so deaths won't be as bad?

Serious question... what's the end game here?

Lockdown forever? Our supreme leaders are already saying a vaccine won't allow us to go back how things were.

First it was flatten curve, then get steady down tick of cases, now it's % positivity rate, what's next?
Might I suggest another justification for permalockdown?

I can't tell if this is satire. But permalockdowns for fringes on the bell curve because someone can't taste chicken noodle soup shouldn't even be part of the discussion.

Eventually the number of cases in Dallas County will fall extremely low and daily deaths of 0-10 will become normal. But Lord Jenkins almost certainly will find something to scare us plebes back into our homes where it is safe.

I agree those stories will continue. Reporting anecdotal stories of individuals will continue to be pushed through November no matter what the numbers look like. Their hope is that they can keep people scared enough until another wave hits.

Just look at nextdoor threads. It's pretty sad how we can't get out of this disaster of a decision.

Even Green Zone indicates the Health Dept thinks nothing will every be the same. The language allows for just about any movement or action to be curtailed for health safety purposes. We'll see how many of these standards stick around through next year. Enforcement will be difficult at best.

Quote:

Green zone
The green zone is the "new normal" for the county and represents protocols needed to protect residents from a resurgence of COVID-19 or future pandemics.

Although this zone more closely resembles what life was like before COVID-19, the guidelines in the green zone are still different from what many may consider normal.

Disease prevention measures such as frequent hand washing, physical distancing and wearing masks in public still need to be maintained, according to the chart.

Dine-in restaurants operating under proper safety precautions can be visited, as well as stores. Nonessential travel to places with a low level of COVID-19 transmission can be considered, but group settings should still be avoided.

Residents can consider attending events of more than 50 people, but physical distancing at these places is still recommended. Larger attendance at religious services is also possible in the green zone.

Movie theaters, museums and libraries can operate at higher capacities, but it's still recommended that people visit at less crowded times and avoid contact with other people. Nail salons, hair salons and gyms should be visited only if they practice strict hygiene protocols. Swimming pools can be visited as long as people wash their hands before entering.

Individual sports are OK as long as no equipment is shared, but high-contact team sports, such as wrestling, should still be avoided.

Home repair workers should continue to practice physical distancing and wear masks. Individuals can return to scheduling normal doctor and dentist visits.

Zilch. It's all non-binding. It's an "I told you so" directed toward Gov. Abbott when Lord Jenkins runs for governor.

Considering the Texas curve was delayed and flattened vs. the huge spikes in the northeast, that line of political attack should fall short. But political parties are pretty tribal and binding these days...

"Karen" can die when the mask mandates end. Most of my life has been pretty unchanged since May, but the mask hysteria has to end.
