I was curious as to the status of the ramen place over by Lowes off Fitch that is taking forever to open and found a website (https://www.zoennoodlesanddumplings.com) that seems to indicate that they've pivoted from ramen and poke to Chinese noodles and dumplings before they've even opened \_()_/. They kept the Zoen part of the name and the street address on that website matches the location.

I saw that they put the sign back up. Grand opening is tomorrow, according to a FB post. And it looks like it is To Go only, but I haven't seen a menu posted yet.

I don't know construction, but it seems like you could prefab the sky bridge and crane it into place in a week.

Digging out Texas Avenue for a cut and cover process would be far more invasive, you'd probably be looking at months. You know, like the pedestrian underpass projects on campus.

Put a big steel arch across the street about a half block either side. That way the raised dump hits the steel bar and makes the driver realize their mistake before hitting the bridge. Cheaper to fix the steel arch. You can also decorate the steel arch for holidays and festivals.

If they can install new bridges over Hwy 6 without shutting down daytime traffic, I'm sure they can figure out a similar solution here.
They aren't willing to pay for the solution. For an unnecessary feature that is already over budget. Who cares if they inconvenience their constituents?

The idea was that there wouldn't be a need to exit and re-enter a secure area. Why would they have a courthouse that spans two entirely separate buildings?

If I recall, the original thread was people that saw the price tag for the whole project including the parking garage and assumed it was just for the skybridge.
I suppose if you were really against the skybridge and the garage they could've just built a brand new building near Traditions or Boonville but I didn't see that argued.

I remember when oxtails were cheap. I get it, sadly.
I remember when soul food didn't have the phrase "to go" anywhere near it.
I've eaten just about everything out there but never had oxtail. Not sure I could eat that. Not sure I could do mountain oysters again either.

Yankees (real ones) know real oysters well. Hell HEB has "Wellfleets" here in town.
Oxtails are great. Lamar and Nikki's does good ones. I buy them at Readfields on occasion to make a dish I learned about in Rome. But they ain't cheap no more.
Picked up lunch at Aunt Josie's Soul Food To Go today. Lucky enough to be one of the first dozen customers in line on day one. The food was very good. We tried the pork chops, baked chicken, cabbage/greens, dressing, and green beans.
I told my husband, while we were waiting on our order and watching the constant flow of customers coming in the front door, that I didn't think they would have enough to remain open until 8pm. Sure enough, they were sold out a couple hours later.
I wish them well and glad their first day was a success. Get there early until they figure out supply and demand.
Edited to add: Oxtails is the most expensive entree, but it does come with 3 sides (compared to 2 sides with the other options).
