For sure Rex! I was so happy to be able to eat Cracker Barrel once I was able to breathe lol. Caprock was the best and I hated to see them close down. Only place in town I trusted after that mess. St Joe sent me home a couple days before I went into caprock and said come back if I don't improve. I will never go back to st Joe.

Went to Jacob's Well this morning.

The former childcare place next door is being renovated. The kid working at Jacob's said it's going to be a poker room.

Alright. Good luck with that? Seems like an odd location.

On the other side between Jacob's and Curious Collections is supposed to be a sno cone shop.

Also, there is a taco trailer in the parking lot of the Exxon at Texas and University. That's a bold move 50 yards from Fuego. Someone needs to have them secure their big propane cylinder though.

Yeah. Pretty easy Google shows 250-360 stores, not the entire chain, which is just under 6,000.

That being said, I haven't been to the Wendy's in College Station in at least ten years. The location is just not helpful at all.

Treehouse Apartments at 200 Marion Pugh Drive closed up sometime relatively recently. According to their website (archive) their property is to be demolished. I'm not sure if it's going to be a big tower or what (if anything).

There used to be a Wendy's in CS where Burger Mojo is now. Also used to be a Jacob's Well on SH 6 near Southern Plantation.

So the high-rises are starting to go up further from campus now. Wild. Marion Pugh and Southgate will be all high-rises in 30 years.

There is a zoning change request pending with College Station to allow for the old Applebees location change from general commercial to mixed use development. The plan is to tear the Applebees down and construct a new six-story Hampton Inn (design below). I am guessing the existing Hampton Inn just a couple of doors down would then be sold or torn down.

I can't imagine it wouldn't be. With Callaway House right there, it is only logical. I think Southgate/Southside will become the next dense student housing area over the upcoming 20 years.
