Guess it's time to help R scout for new locations
They remodeled that BOA not too long ago… (Waiting for someone to tell me that it's been 10 years. Time flies!)
I officed out of it briefly 4-5 years ago, and I would describe it as a steaming pile of ***** Nothing like sitting in my office wearing my Carhartts because the heater was out for like two months straight in January-February. At least the landlord brought us some space heaters that kept our office from literally freezing.
We also had flashlights in the shared restroom because the lights were programmed to turn off after about 30 seconds of inactivity and wouldn't detect motion in the stalls.
Good times. Hopefully the mentioned renovation was after that.

The high-rise apartments already create problems downstream in other neighborhoods, but it's amusing to watch people start losing their minds when they start to breach the containment zone.

There's a new facility called 4Padel at Bird Pond Road and Hwy 30. Judging from their Instagram, the soft opening is any day now. I've never even heard of Padel but from what I can gather, it's a cross between tennis and squash.

That was my first impression too but they're trying really hard to market it as an alternative to pickleball.
All I know is that I'm staying away from anything that can twist my ankle because I have a propensity for that. I'll stick with golf.

I talked to someone close to the Padel place. Owners were approached by someone from Brazil wanting to open it. They went out of the way to specify it is NOT pickleball.

Is there a police substation in Northgate? I know they made that a requirement in whatever was built on the city-owned parking lot land behind the Chicken, but since that deal didn't move forward, I don't know if they have one somewhere else in NG or have plans to locate one elsewhere.

St. Mary's gives them some space, but otherwise, no.
I'd like to see a substation there.
I they put the waffle house in the old Kinko's property across from the parking garage, there is probably enough room to put the substation behind the kitchen and still have room for a couple of bail bondsmen.

As stated above, St Mary's has given them space for years. It is a kind of weekend substation, but unstaffed because officers only use it only for meetings and dressing.
And I would still like there to be an actual substation there.
